A Call of Duty: Warzone update adjusts Roze, but many fans believe that the changes are not drastic enough to solve the in-game issue.

After months of waiting, fans finally received a long-awaited nerf to a popular Call of Duty: Warzone skin. While Roze originally had a fairly standard appearance, her Rook skin began to cause trouble among the community. Call of Duty: Warzone fans had a hard time spotting her in dark corners, and the developers finally made some adjustments to counter this effect.

While Call of Duty: Warzone fans were happy to see a Roze nerf, none knew exactly what that would entail. Now, the developers have officially updated the skin, causing mixed reviews among the players. While some are grateful for the improvement, others believe that it may not have been enough of a nerf.

In a video posted by TheXclusiveAce on YouTube, the popular Call of Duty: Warzone analyst tested fans' opinions on the adjusted skin. The Call of Duty: Warzone patch notes stated that the developers had adjusted Roze's visibility in sources of light, but fans found that post-patch, the skin was darker than ever before. The YouTuber found that many changes to the Roze skin have very little to do with the skin at all. The '80s version of Verdansk is a brighter map, and the interiors of buildings are even more well lit than before. This gives Roze fewer places to hide, and the developer nerfs only furthered the difficulty of stealth approaches. In XclusiveAce's opinion, Roze is far from a reasonable state despite developer efforts.

Generally, the main issue that is causing this problem revolves around global lighting. Call of Duty: Warzone is a dark game, and despite the efforts of developers to add more lights, the game remains shadowy. This means that any operator in dark clothing can successfully hide in corners with Roze being one of the more problematic examples of the issue.

While it may seem plausible to simply nerf dark outfits, darkness is a part of the competitive features in many shooters. The dark spaces give opportunities for alternative methods of attack, and this is outside the issues revolving around Call of Duty: Warzone's Roze. A simple solution to this problem would be to brighten global lighting, but some fans may not accept this throughout the game.

The community remains divided over this issue, and Call of Duty: Warzone is sure to have more updates in its future. While fans debate possible solutions, players are left with the Roze skin only slightly adjusted but just as hidden as it has been in the past.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
