To celebrate the release of New Pokemon Snap, players in Pokemon GO can participate in a brand new event focused on this new game. With New Pokemon Snap being focused on taking photos of various wild Pokemon, both the field research tasks and the timed research tasks of this event are focused on taking snapshots.

Pokemon GO players have from 10:00 AM on April 29th to 8:00 PM on May 2nd in players' local times to participate in the New Pokemon Snap Celebration event. Unlike the timed research tasks however, players can take as much time as they like to complete the event exclusive field research tasks as long as they collect the actual task during the event.

Players can pick up the event field research tasks from any PokeStop while the event is active. Each PokeStop will provide one field research task per day with there being four different tasks for the New Pokemon Snap Celebration event. There is no way to guarantee a specific task, although each task has its own specific reward and isn't interchangeable between tasks.

As mentioned, there are four different field research tasks that players can obtain and complete during this event. These field research tasks are:

Take one snapshot of wild Pokemon - Three Razz Berries or three Pinap Berries

Take five snapshots of wild Pokemon - Dodrio encounter, Mantine encounter, or Skarmory encounter

Use five berries to help catch Pokemon - Wooper encounter, Wurmple encounter, Croagunk encounter, or Stunfisk encounter

Use five Golden Razz Berries to help catch Pokemon - Alolan Vulpix encounter, Lapras encounter, or Skarmory encounter

Of these tasks, the Golden Razz Berry field research task has the most potential for causing trouble with completing. While it can simply be removed for those who don't want to work toward it, the task may be worth it for players who are unable to find any Alolan Vulpix. With it using the same candy as a Kantonian Vulpix, players won't need to grind candies through this task in order to evolve one into Alolan Ninetales. It however isn't a guaranteed encounter with this task since players also have the chance to instead encounter Lapras or Skarmory.

For shiny hunters, there are multiple Pokemon among these field research encounters that have the chance to appear in their shiny forms. These Pokemon are Skarmory, Wooper, Wurmple, Croagunk, Alolan Vulpix, and Lapras. The rest have no chance to appear in their shiny forms.
