Disney Plus has released a new teaser for episode four of Marvel's WandaVision and it marks a big shift in the series. While the first three episodes have been following Wanda and Vision in the sitcom universe, this teaser gives viewers a glimpse of what has been happening outside that universe.
The teaser begins with the character known in the sitcom universe as Geraldine approaching what appears to be a block of houses and a sign reading "Welcome to Westview," the name of the sitcom town. She is accompanied by Randall Park's Jimmy Woo, the FBI agent best known for being Scott Lang's parole officer in Ant-Man. As they get closer, they realize the town is surrounded by "some sort of energy field." Geraldine reaches out to touch it and Jimmy Woo tells her, "Captain Rambeau," to be careful.

The character known as Geraldine is actually the now-adult Monica Rambeau, the daughter of Carol Danvers' best friend Maria Rambeau in Captain Marvel. Judging from the insignia on her jacket, she is a Captain of SWORD, the organization whose logo has been seen several times in WandaVision so far. The teaser confirms that it is Jimmy Woo's voice that was heard over the radio when Wanda was talking to Dottie in episode two. Darcy Lewis from Thor also appears in the trailer, watching a screen, presumably showing the sitcom universe.
The teaser does not give all the answers, but provides a bit of the outside perspective on Wanda and Vision in the sitcom universe. The SWORD agents are clearly monitoring what is going on, but don't seem to know why it is happening. A wall of pictures reveals that several people in the town are actually SWORD agents. Agnes, Jones, Herb, Norm, Beverly, and Mr. Hart and his wife can all be seen to be related to SWORD. Additionally, all of them except Agnes have SWORD ID cards. Notably, Dottie is missing from the wall completely.
Elizabeth Olsen previously teased that episode four would have a perspective shift and it makes sense that it involves coming outside the sitcom universe after "Geraldine" was ejected from it in episode three. The teaser raises many questions, such as how Monica Rambeau was able to enter the sitcom universe, how this was discovered by SWORD, and what force is behind it. The show has shown before that Wanda has some control over the sitcom world, but it is unknown whether or not she is doing it of her own volition.
WandaVision is now streaming on Disney Plus.
