A Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War weapon is surprisingly underpowered as many fans fail to kill targets with one shot despite it being a sniper.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has a wide armory full of options for players to take into battle. While the developers have buffed and nerfed multiple weapons, no change has had such a big impact as removing the flinch mechanic and adding aim assist to Sniper Rifles. While this does aid sniper fans, many of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War rifles have a slow ADS time.

The obvious solution from the developers is a new weapon added in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 3. The Swiss K31 Sniper Rifle unlocks at Level 31 of the Battle Pass, and many players have been able to unlock it and level through its tiers. Despite having a fast ADS speed and fire rate, many fans are disappointed with the damage the rifle deals.

As one of the fastest Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Sniper Rifles, many fans were instantly attracted to the weapons potential. It was not long before players realized that it was great at getting hit marks but not one-hit kills. Many Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans have turned to making fun of the weapon, with players comparing it to a Nerf Gun and creating memes revolving around its ability to leave enemies at low HP instead of killing them. Comments on one Reddit post share a common theme, as many of them describe the weapon as too weak and hard to level with.

One fan in the comments offers a mild suggestion to buff the damage only by 2%. In their experience, many of the people they managed to shoot survived with only a tiny amount of HP, which gives them time to fire back and score kills. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War could buff the weapon, but it is unclear if the developers intend on any adjustments.

An easy solution to help balance out the K31 rifle is to equip the 24.9" Tiger Team barrel. This will improve the gun's damage, fire rate, and bullet velocity, helping to shore up any weaknesses the rifle has. This Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War attachment is a default for many fans, but those who are not using it can find major advantages in its option at level 48.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans will have to find up to level 48 for the attachment, which in itself can be a difficult experience. Many Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War guides suggest TDM and Hardcore as options as the weapon's decreased damage may still be a one-hit kill in those situations.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
