With World of Warcraft's next patch still months away from release, most players are taking this time to collect various cosmetics from the Shadowlands and even past expansions. Since this week's Wrath of the Lich King Timewalking event gives 50-percent bonus reputation with Northrend factions, heroes can significantly speed up the grind with various groups including the Sons of Hodir.
The Sons of Hodir were originally introduced as part of the Storm Peaks storyline leading up to Ulduar and the battle against Yogg-Saron. Unlike many other factions throughout World of Warcraft's history, the Sons of Hodir are one of the few where players start out hated and will be attacked on sight. Though doing their questline nowadays will immediately take one to honored, Timewalking further boosts the reputation to instantly put them at exalted without grinding any dailies.

Since the initial questline isn't repeatable, World of Warcraft players may have to use an alt, but should also note that the Timewalking bonus only applies to Level 60 characters. Human characters still get the 10-percent additional bonus reputation from their passive, but any race will still finish at exalted.
Fly over to K3 in the Storm Peaks and speak with the goblin Gretchen Fizzlespark for the first quest to rescue 5 Goblin Prisoners from a nearby Vrykul village. Afterwards, players will do twenty other quests which involve being disguised as a Vrykul, undertaking certain trials, and meeting the Titanic keeper, Thorim. Be aware that the Cold Hearted quest involves rescuing 9 Brunnhildar Prisoners which have a long respawn timer and may be camped by multiple people, so check back later at night or early morning if necessary.
After finishing the precursor quests, Thorim will offer Mending Fences which gives 42,900 reputation thanks to Timewalking with the Sons of Hodir upon completion. While slaying Stormforged Iron Giants for the quest, however, players will also loot Slag Covered Metal. This item starts another quest, The Refiner's Fire, to kill nearby Seething Revenants and interact with Fjorn's anvil. Afterwards, the follow-up quest A Spark of Hope gives an additional 42,900 reputation needed to instantly go from hated to exalted once it and Mending Fences are turned in to Thorim.
Once exalted with the Sons of Hodir, players can speak with Lillehoff to buy various reputation rewards. Though there are many cosmetics including transmog, the most interesting items are two mounts that reward achievements: the Ice Mammoth and Grand Ice Mammoth. Note that players who just want the achievements can buy both mounts and instantly refund them for the full price.
Players have until 5:00 AM Pacific Time on Tuesday, May 4th to take advantage of this opportunity. Even if they are already exalted with the Sons of Hodir, there are other Northrend factions such as the Wyrmrest Accord which also reward rare mounts.
World of Warcraft is available on PC.
