A new character has been revealed for Streets of Rage 4, the latest entry in the beloved series. The beat-'em-up has a DLC pack on the way, and Max Thunder is one of the characters included.
Streets of Rage 4's Mr. X Nightmare DLC was revealed earlier this month, named after the antagonist of the original series. The DLC will see the addition of 3 characters, bringing the roster to 15. One of those characters received their reveal today via a new trailer.

Max Thunder originally appeared in Streets of Rage 2, but the intimidating and burly former professional wrestler is finally making his return in Streets of Rage 4. Because of his former profession, Max's fighting style is very much in line with what one would expect with a wrestler. He uses grapples and throws, both of which are on display in the trailer. Additionally, some of his moves from the older games had names like Atomic Drop and Bear Hug. Max is also good friends with Axel Stone, one of the main protagonists of the Streets of Rage series.
The DLC for Streets of Rage 4 initially leaked last month, specifically the name Mr. X Nightmare. With that name, there was speculation as to just who would be the characters to join the cast of Streets of Rage 4. It is nice to see that Max Thunder is back, and that makes it interesting as to who else will be a part of the DLC. The developers could choose to bring back more classic characters from Streets of Rage, or someone brand new could be on the way.
