The OddWorld series of games has been running since 1997, and while it's never found the mainstream success of other 90s games like Spyro the Dragon or Crash Bandicoot, it has an interesting world and memorable, unique looking characters. Characters so unique that it's hard to imagine them recreated as a Miitopia Mii, but one Nintendo fan has done just that.

The official release date for the Switch version of Miitopia is May 21, but Nintendo has released a demo for the game to give gamers a chance to play around with some of the features before the full game is released. Miitopia has added a ton of new character customizations to the Switch version of the game, and Redditor mattia0113 has used these resources to create a very accurate, if cartoon version of Abe from OddWorld.

The Miitopia version of Abe mattia0113 created has a green, spotted forehead, bulging yellow eyes, and even the classic stitches over the character's mouth. The eyes are tilted into Abe's trademark sad expression, a nice touch that really captures the character's essence and helps pull the whole thing together.  Redditor mattia0133 might be the first to make an Oddworld Mii in Miitopia, but there will likely be a plethora of Oddworld Miis when the OddWorld Collection is released for Switch on May 27, just a few days after the Miitopia release.

Interestingly, the OddWorld bundle is looking like it will be a Switch exclusive, whereas the last OddWorld stand alone title, the buggy OddWorld Soulstorm, skipped the Switch entirely. As for Miitopia, fans have already made a ton of creative and hilarious Mii characters using the Mii Maker in the demo version, but there's bound to be plenty more once the full version of the game hits shelves.

Miitopia will be available for Nintendo Switch on May 21, 2021.
