It seems Atlus has been adjusting the various domains associated with the Persona series, which could hint at a possible Persona 5 Arena title.

Persona 5 was a massive hit all across the globe, with many players diving into the Shin Megami Tensei spin-off series for the very first time. Atlus has made it known that the Persona 5-related games have been massive successes, with Persona 5 Royal and Persona 5 Strikers both exceeding sales expectations.

As such, it would not be too surprising to hear that Atlus has future plans to capitalize on the massive success that Persona 5 brought to the series. Now, that may just be the case if a renewed domain name is any indication of Atlus' future plans for the Persona series.

The news comes by way of website Persona Central, which reported that Atlus had registered a handful of Persona-related website domains by way of business partner Ryu's Office. Atlus had registered these domains back in 2017 and 2018, as is usually the case when companies want to secure domain names for potential projects that are in the works. In 2017, Atlus registered a variety of domain names, including "P5AG.JP," "P3D.JP," "P5D.JP," and "13C.JP." Naturally, two of those domain names reference the Persona 3 and Persona 5 Dancing titles, while the "13C.JP" may relate to 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.

However, since many of the domains Atlus registered years ago are set to expire, the company has chosen to renew a select few domain names. The renewed domain names include "PERSONA8.JP," "PERSONA9.JP," "PERSONA10.JP," and "P5U.JP." Naturally, the renewed domain name that stands out the most is "P5U.JP," as this abbreviation is similar to what Persona 4 Arena Ultimax was commonly abbreviated to in Japan. For those who may not know, Persona 4 had two fighting game spin-off titles developed by Arc System Works: Persona 4 Arena and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax.

Considering Atlus has decided to renew the "P5U.JP" domain, there's a decent chance the company has plans to work on a fighting game based of Persona 5 this time around. At the very least, it's an idea that Atlus is toying around with or keeping in its back pocket. This is great news for fans of Persona and fans of the fighting game genre, as many players consider Persona 4 Arena Ultimax to be one of Arc System Works' best fighting games. The Persona 4 Arena games were also fun for fans of the regular Persona series, as they expanded on the lore and characters of both Persona 3 and Persona 4.

Similar to how Persona 5 Strikers takes place after Persona 5, both Persona 4 Arena titles follow up on what the cast of Persona 3 and Persona 4 got up to following the events of their games. In a similar vein, a Persona 5 Arena Ultimax game could once again reunite the casts of Persona 3 and Persona 4. Since it's been well over six years since Persona 4 Arena Ultimax released, getting to see older versions of the Persona 3 and Persona 4 casts would be amazing. Hopefully, the "P5U.JP" domain does in fact mean that Atlus has a new Persona 5 fighting game in the works and isn't just sitting on the domain for safe keeping.

Persona 5 Royal is currently available on PlayStation 4.
