Call of Duty: Warzone’s Hunt for Adler event is now over, but with many unable to finish it, Raven is awarding a free skin in response.

Call of Duty: Warzone recently saw its Hunt for Adler event come to an end, with the story-focused objectives meant to award players with cosmetic items once complete. Unfortunately, the event was plagued by issues, and Raven has responded by giving all Call of Duty: Warzone players Adler’s event skin for free.

Call of Duty: Warzone’s Hunt for Adler issues were twofold. First, the event’s contracts were simply not being marked as complete in the event menu. While gamers were completing the intel contracts throughout Verdansk 84, sometimes several times, the objective was not being checked off on the event screen. On top of this, some of the contracts even spawning out of Verdansk’s boundaries, too, meaning that most gamers truly struggled to complete the Hunt for Adler.

While Raven Software eventually made good on its promise and fixed the issues that Call of Duty: Warzone fans were dealing with, it did so at the tail end of the event. With only a few hours left to complete the contracts and unlock the rewards, many missed out on the items through no fault of their own. Fortunately, Raven Software did say it was working on a fix of some kind, and it has now provided an update. For the rest of Season 3, the Tortured and Rescued skin will be completely free to anyone logging into Call of Duty: Warzone.

Players will not need to do anything special to claim the skin, either. Instead, they can head to the Operators tab in the main menu and select Adler. After selecting the customize option, the Hunt for Adler event’s main reward should be selectable alongside any other unlocked skins. While some commenters are annoyed that they suffered through the buggy contracts for nothing, most of the replies to the announcement seem positive. After all, with the event so heavily bugged, it would not be fair for gamers to miss out on the cosmetic.

However, it is worth noting that the other items from Hunt for Adler will seemingly stay locked. Raven Software has made no mention of the smaller items that unlocked for each intel contract that was completed. As such, it seems as if the weapon charm, sticker, and calling card will remain exclusive to those that completed the faulty contracts. While the skin was undoubtedly the biggest attraction in terms of unlockable items, it will be interesting to see if players are bothered about the smaller rewards remaining locked.

Considering that Hunt for Adler had some minor issues with missing text in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War as well, the event clearly did not go as planned. As such, hopefully the next Seasonal event for Call of Duty will go a bit better.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
