The Simpsons' Maggie will go up against evil dark forces from the Star Wars universe while on a mission to find her missing pacifier.

Fans know Star Wars Day is almost here and Disney Plus has several plans to celebrate the event on May the 4th this year. The latest addition to their list of events is a crossover between Star Wars and The Simpsons. The new short, titled Maggie Simpson in The Force Awakens From Its Nap, premieres on the streaming service on the day that commemorates George Lucas's media franchise.

Over the years, The Simpsons received several parodies, including those involving Star Wars, but since the Disney and Fox merger, this will be the first official crossover between the two projects. Fans will get a chance to see popular characters from the Star Wars universe coming to Springfield while Maggie Simpson goes on an “epic quest to find her stolen pacifier.” As she wakes up in a daycare, she realizes her pacifier has gone missing and is willing to go on an ultimate battle against the dark side to get it back, while saving the galaxy.

This is only the first in a whole series of The Simpsons crossover content planned for the year. While this one brings in references from the Star Wars franchise, other promotional shorts over the year will see The Simpsons'characters unite with multiple top brands of The Walt Disney Company and some of Disney Plus' popular shows

The short film is not the only content fans of the extremely popular series will be able to enjoy on May the 4th. The much-awaited animated Disney Plus series Star Wars: The Bad Batch also premieres on the celebratory day, which will follow the journey of experimental clones finding their way in a galaxy far, far away following the events of the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Each member of this Bad Batch will be unique, as they vary genetically from their counterparts and possess skills that make them powerful soldiers. A virtual art showcase will also be going live.

Fans will also be able to catch a virtual tour of some of the Lucasfilm franchise’s famous planets in Star Wars Biomes. Additionally, Star Wars Vehicle Flythroughs will let fans step inside the iconic Millennium Falcon and an Imperial Star Destroyer.

Apart from these, Disney has previously confirmed that 11 new Star Wars shows will be coming to Disney Plus soon. For now, fans can enjoy watching the youngest Simpsons family member go up against the likes of Sith Lords and droids.

Maggie Simpson in The Force Awakens From Its Nap premieres on Disney Plus on May 4, 2021.
