A challenge for Week 7 of Season 6 in Fortnite requires players to hunt two raptors, so here's a guide to their locations and tips on engaging them.

Raptors are among some of the most lethal additions to Season 6 of Fortnite Chapter 2, roaming in pairs and attacking any players on sight. Although Raptors can be tamed, a week 7 challenge tasks players with facing these deadly animals head-on. It's a dangerous one, though completing the challenge gives players an easy 24,000 XP towards the battle pass. Better, it counts towards unlocking everything in the Neymar Jr. cosmetic set.

Taming a Raptor is one thing, though only fools rush in when facing these creatures. They seldom roll without backup, so players will want to keep their heads on a swivel. They're quick and, if not careful, can inflict massive damage within seconds. As a precaution, some players may find that the Hunter's Cloak makes this challenge far easier. The item makes the user invisible to animals, allowing for players to dispatch them without raising alarm. Alternatively, players can utilize meat to lure Raptors away.

Overall, Raptor spawns are more or less limited to the locations in the map above. Particularly, heavy concentrations are focused around Misty Meadows, Weeping Woods, and Stealthy Stronghold. Aside from that, Fortnite players are safe to assume that where they find large dinosaur eggs, Raptors aren't too far away. They have a large walking radius, meaning that players may encounter them far out from their eggs in the late game.

When it comes to engaging them, doing it on an even battlefield is the quickest way to meet certain death. A good strategy is to utilize a vantage point and take out the Raptors from above, disabling their ability to retaliate. Ranged weapons such as Assault Rifles, Bows, and Rockets all give players an advantage, though close-range fighting is a no-go. Shotguns are possible, though the risk might not be worth it. If the Raptors prove to be difficult, it's never a bad idea to complete the objective as part of a squad.

Players completing this Week 7 quest may find that they can kill two Raptors and a secondary quest with one stone. One challenge tasks players with marking weapons of different rarity, starting with Common and going up to Exotic. Raptors are pretty deadly if players are only utilizing Common weapons, so they may find it reasonable to upgrade them to Legendary rarity at least. Once done, players will have a pretty good headstart in facing off against the powerful Glyph Master Raz and claiming their Mythic bow.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
