A Fortnite Season 6 Week 8 challenge instructs fans to damage an opponent within 10 seconds of landing, and this guide is here to help.

Brand new challenges are now available in Fortnite, and some of them can prove to be a bit tricky to complete. For instance, the task that centers around damaging an opponent within 10 seconds of landing may give some players a bit of trouble, though it is actually not extremely difficult to tackle. For those fans that are stuck on this particular Fortnite challenge, this guide contains information that should allow them to complete it with ease.

To get right to it, players that are working on this task should plan to start their matches by landing in one of the popular areas on Fortnite's map. Locations like Pleasant Park and Lazy Lake are particularly good sites for completing this challenge, as there should be many opponents touching down there. Regardless of the exact location that a player chooses to focus on, they should pinpoint an adversary as they get close to the ground and land right next to them.

Upon coming into contact with the ground, fans should quickly pull out their Harvesting Tools in Fortnite and start hitting the opponent that they followed. Indeed, landing one or two melee strikes against this foe should be enough to complete the challenge, and players will receive indication that they have earned their reward after they have connected a couple of times. For full clarity, that reward is 24,000 XP, and it is sure to be appreciated by those fans that are trying to level up their Battle Passes.

After finishing the "damage Opponent within 10 seconds of landing" challenge, players may want to start taking on some of the other new tasks that are now available. One of the additional tasks that may be of interest instructs fans to collect research books from Holly Hedges and Pleasant Park, and a total of eight of them must be found. Alternatively, players could head over to Pizza Pit and use a Firefly Jar to earn even more XP.

There are also a couple of new challenges that require fans to visit Guardian Towers in Fortnite, and there are six of these structures on the map. More specifically, the Guardian Towers form a circle that encompasses locations like Pleasant Park, Weeping Woods, and Colossal Crops, and they are fairly easy to spot. Upon arrival at these structures, players should open Chests and use Launchers, as these activities are at the center of two of the weekly challenges.

Fortnite is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
