After a Call of Duty: Warzone fan found themselves teleported to the Gulag, fans across the web have looked for exactly how it was done. Call of Duty: Warzone is a buggy game, and there are several ways that the player could have achieved this interesting feat. While it is against Call of Duty: Warzone rules to exploit the glitch, that has not stopped the game's community from discovering it.
The Gulag is a sacred place for the Call of Duty: Warzone community. As a location for a player's last stand, fans often discuss balance concerns and weapon selection in fervent debates. That is part of why this bug is fairly controversial among fans, as it allows outside intervention to affect the ongoing of the Gulag.

In a video posted by DefendTheHouse, a YouTuber and his friend host a series are known as Warzone Mythbusters. By taking fan rumors, they can perform glitches, exploits, and other strange Warzone occurrences with the intention of informing the community. In the video, he demonstrates an exact method that allows him to not only enter the Gulag without dying but also gun down enemy players while he is there. While this is an exploit that can easily be considered a bannable offense, it is only accessible due to developer error rather than an external cheat program.
DefendtheHouse is not the first player to discover this bug, as one unlucky fan ended up in the Gulag without intention. When the Call of Duty: Warzone player realized where they were, they spent quite a while running around until they realized that they could shoot over the wall.
It should be noted that the game believes that the player is in their previous location. While Call of Duty: Warzone fans may be inside the Gulag for the moment, the game will still load the poison gas as if the player was outside on the map.
Seeing as this is an exploit of the game engine, fans are recommended to not perform this action in the game. Activision does ban players for exploits and cheats, which this Call of Duty: Warzone bug counts as if it was performed with the intention of arriving in the Gulag.
It is unknown if the developers are planning on fixing this lesser-known bug, but until then, Gulag fans are in danger of having their match ruined by a third party. Call of Duty: Warzone continues to receive patches and support, so a bug fix may be in the game's future sooner rather than later.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
