Bungie releases the last This Week at Bungie before Season of the Splicer, detailing a preview of the upcoming patch notes for Guardians.

Destiny 2’s new season, Season of the Splicer, arrives in just a few days. Bungie’s last This Week at Bungie before Season of the Splicer begins is giving Guardians a preview of the upcoming patch for Destiny 2.

As with all new seasonal releases for Destiny 2, a patch accompanies the upcoming Season 14, Season of the Splicer. With Season of the Splicer launching in a few days, Bungie detailed some of the upcoming changes to Destiny 2, including Super tuning and some quality-of-life changes.

Starting with Subclass changes for Hunters, Revenant Stasis Super, Silence and Squall will have a reduced freeze detonation from 12 meters to 8.5 meters in radius. The Squall portion of the super will now have a red ring to better define its area of effect as it moves around the map.

Titans seem to be getting a buff with the Shiver Strike melee now refunding energy when Glacial Quake ends. Some players may be delighted to hear that the issue where players could trigger Whisper of Torment by standing in an enemy Titan Barricade has been fixed. Warlocks however, are getting a couple or nerfs. The Shadebinder Warlock will be getting a fragment slot removed on the Bleak Watcher Aspect and it will now grant two fragment slots. The Chaos Reach Super will no longer penetrate thin walls or objects, preventing killing players on the other side of a wall.

Bungie noted it is looking at Stasis Freeze, Slow accuracy penalties, and Whisper of Hedrons, with more information coming soon. Season of the Splicer will also bring some quality-of-life changes to Destiny 2. The Nav Mode Menu that appears when pulling out Ghost will now have separate Bounty and Quest menus. Further, all bounties will appear in the Nav Mode and therefore, cannot be manually tracked. However, a tracked Triumph will appear in its own Nav Mode Category.

With the return of the Vault of Glass and the lack of Venus as a Destination on Destiny 2, a new destination had to be made to hold Vault of Glass. The Legends destination will be added to the Destinations tab in the Director. This will likely allow Bungie a place to put more content in the future. Further changes to the Destination tab include the addition of the H.E.L.M. as a fleshed out destination with its own map and no longer will be found in the Tower map. Further changes in the H.E.L.M. will allow the Prismatic Recaster to auto decrypt Umbral Engrams when they are focused making the process faster for Guardians with a stack of Umbral Engrams.

The change to Umbral Engrams means that they are returning for Season of the Splicer. Focused Umbral Engrams can now be used to get pieces of Seasonal Armor and some of the new weapons. Guardians will have to wait and see what else they can get with Focused Umbral Engrams in Season of the Splicer.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
