Destiny 2's 2021 Guardian Games timed seasonal event comes to a close, revealing which of the three player classes won the event this year.

2021's Guardian Games in Destiny 2 are coming to a close after weeks of friendly player competition. The event saw a lot of changes from Bungie this year, and now it has been revealed who won Destiny 2's Guardian Games this time.

For those who don't know, the Guardian Games is Destiny 2's timed seasonal event that pits the three player classes, Titan, Warlock, and Hunter, against one another in a friendly contest. The event tasks players with completing missions and challenges to earn medals that contribute to their class' point total with the class with the most points at the end of the event winning. Whichever class wins the event gets a golden statue erected in Destiny 2's social space, The Tower, until next year's Guardian Games event.

Some changes were made to scoring in the Guardian Games this year after last year's event was dominated by the Hunter class since the class has the highest percentage of players. Despite the changes, however, the Hunter class was largely the winner throughout this year's Guardian Games as well, and it has now been revealed that they won the entire event as well. The event ends just before Destiny 2's new Season 14: Season of the Splicer starts next week.

Curiously, Bungie did not make any official announcement of the event's winner, leaving players to find out by receiving a message upon booting up Destiny 2. Many players have taken to expressing their disappointment at the Hunter class winning the event again, saying that the efforts Bungie made to better balance the event did not do enough to make sure the less played classes stood a fair chance. Some players' frustrations are amplified by the community's recent disappointment with the unveiling of Destiny 2's new transmog system that is coming to the game with Season 14.

It is unfortunate that players were not wholly satisfied with 2021's Guardian Games, but hopefully, Bungie can take the community's feedback to improve next year's event. Of course, players also still have a lot of incoming new content to look forward to. Not only does the game frequently run timed events, but the upcoming season looks to bring a lot of new features and weapons to Destiny 2. Hopefully, future events will be more satisfying for the community, but for now, Hunters can jump into Destiny 2 to grab their hard-earned rewards for their impressive performance during the 2021 Guardian Games. Maybe, next year will see Destiny 2's Warlocks or Titans band together to take the Guardian Games crown for themselves.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
