Behaviour Interactive's annual Design a Costume Contest for Dead By Daylight has crowned its Survivor and Killer cosmetic winners.

Dead by Daylight remains impressively popular in large part due to an uncommonly dedicated and consistently excited community of players. Of course, Behaviour Interactive has fostered that community through hard work and planning, delivering a high cadence of content while also actively engaging its community through social media. In a great example of synergy, Behaviour has just concluded its latest Dead by Daylight "Design a Cosmetic Contest," revealing the new fan-made skins it'll adding to the game.

The annual design contest for Dead by Deadlight is back in 2021, more popular than ever. As with previous years, there were technically two different contests being held at the same time. One contest is for a Survivor's costume while the second is for a Killer's costume. This year had a ton of great submissions, but as ever there can only be two winners. The Survivor winner's costume is a tattooed Afropunk costume for Elodie and the Killer winner is a regal purple butterfly costume for The Plague.

As with previous years, the winners of the contest -- Selena Fay for Elodie's and Dragonaer for The Plague's -- will be rewarded for their work. Each of them will be given promotional codes for 10,000 Auric Cells and a Rift Pass unlock, valued together at approximately $110. It's a relatively small prize overall, especially considering the amount of work that had to go into each piece (never mind the pieces that didn't win), but it's something that fans of the game will appreciate nonetheless.

The bigger prize, of course, is getting their work added to Dead by Daylight as official cosmetics. Soon every Dead by Daylight player will be able to pick up the new Elodie and Plague skins for themselves. The two artists' work will be immortalized in-game, which doesn't necessarily put money in their pockets but does give them a resume-worthy portfolio addition.

Behaviour also recently wrapped up its contests for Survivor and Killer charms, which while less prestigious are still fun events and full of impressive artwork. This year's Survivor charm winner is a cute Tomagotch-inspired digital friend named Enti-Tchi from artist Chessa. The Killer charm is a small bone ribcage with a bleeding/glowing heart in the center and a red bow at the top from artist Cozaco.

It may be some time before each artists' work is added to the game, but Dead by Daylight players now have something fun to look forward to. Past years' cosmetics, like the still-frighting Mr. Puddles costume for The Clown, have been some of the best offered in the game. This year's additions are no different.

Dead by Daylight is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Stadia, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
