Fans of Sega's beloved final console can now wear that fandom on their sleeve as Sega partners with DumbGood for a Dreamcast clothing line.

While official support for Sega's Dreamcast console ended in March 2001, fan support for the system has kept it alive decades past its premature expiration date. Game developers have done their part as well, releasing a steady stream of new Sega Dreamcast games for the last several years. Recently it appears Sega has taken note of the fanbase surrounding its final console, as the video game giant has partnered with DumbGood clothing so fans can dress like it's 1999 all over again.

Of course, that's not to say pooka shell necklaces and frosted tips are coming back; the Dreamcast was a forward-thinking, futuristic machine in 1999 with an aesthetic that represented a view of the future rather than the cargo-pants heavy present. Indeed, the Dreamcast was ahead of its time in many ways, and because Sega cast its gaze into the future where visuals were concerned, the new clothing line looks as relevant in 2021 as it would have at the turn of the century.

The Dreamcast apparel comes courtesy of DumbGood, a clothing company that has previously partnered with other vintage brands such as Blockbuster Video and MTV as well as classic shows like Seinfeld and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Items in the new Sega line include t-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, and face-masks, all in the Dreamcast's trademark orange, white, and black color scheme. The apparel was announced weeks after a prototype for an unreleased Dreamcast Castlevania game was leaked online, and while it's unclear whether the timing was intentional, the results are the same: Fans can look the part while playing a new game from the 1990s.

The Twitter account SEGA Forever announced the Dreamcast clothing line in a tweet on May 6 saying, "DUMBGOOD's new Dreamcast apparel range is available in the US."  Unfortunately, DumbGood doesn't ship to the rest of the world, though a freight forwarding company can take care of that problem for any international Sega fans who simply need a Dreamcast fleece pullover. Although, as is the case with a lot of official Pokemon clothing items, DumbGood's Dreamcast lineup isn't cheap, so fans might not want to add an additional freight service cost to the already hefty price tags.

For the Sega fans out there with Dreamcast tattoos, the cost likely won't be much of a determent. The rest of the world might try to stick to eBay auctions for their retro Sega clothing, although, as the aptly named Twitter user what_is_free points out, "To everyone complaining about the prices - vintage Dreamcast apparel from the ’90s goes for hundreds of $$ on eBay."

Regardless, DumbGood's clothing line offers a nice selection for fans with some money to spare who want to represent the Sega console that continues to live on year after year. In fact, with rumors of a potential Dreamcast Mini console coming from the mouth of Sega creative producer Yosuke Okunari, the console may soon become more popular than ever, potentially bringing more clothing line deals into the mix.
