One of the best ways to get the jump on your opponents in Call of Duty: Warzone is to bait opponents. Here's how to do it efficiently.

At this point in the life cycle of Warzone, players have had more than a year to improve their skills in Verdansk. With SBMM playing such a huge role in the game, people will be facing off against similarly skilled opponents in almost every match. The only way to survive is to outsmart opponents with movement, anticipation, and deception.

Elite players have developed a number of these tactics to gain slight advantages in engagements and rack up more kills. This guide will cover ten of the most effective ways to manipulate enemy strategy and movement. People of all skills levels will be able to use these tips to improve in Warzone.

10 Intentional Unsuppressed Fire

Conservative players love to occupy the two and three story buildings all across the map. There are only two ways into the buildings, and those are the two stairwells on either side. Without dead silence, it can be difficult to push up the stairs and get an enemy on the roof to peek.

One way to draw the eyes of enemies is to fire unsuppressed shots outside of the building. This tactic will only work a fraction of the time, but when it does, it is satisfying. Before the opponent peeks, players should have their Kar98k or SPR ready to fire.

9 The False Resurrection

When a teammate is down, enemies will expect someone to start reviving them. Savvy players will wait until they hear the revive begin and immediately sprint in that direction. Instead of reviving, people should initiate the animation and cancel it. Opponents will run straight toward the sound and will be caught off guard when they arrive. Finding good cover and unconventional vantage points will increase the chances of succeeding when pulling off this trick.

8 Opening Windows And Doors

When fighting an enemy team holed up in a small building, audio can be used to mislead and confuse. For example, instead of entering the front door, gamers can open the front door, but enter the back. The same strategy works for windows. People will be perplexed by all of the different audio queues if several windows break and it will be difficult to pin down movement and locations.

7 Dropshot Surprise

There are mixed opinions on whether dropshotting is a cheap tactic, but it is an effective maneuver nonetheless. Gamers that know an enemy is chasing them can lead them through a door or around a form of cover. If they immediately go prone, they will catch the person chasing them off guard. In the 200 milliseconds or so it will take to react, the enemy will already have less than half of their health. The dropshot bait is a last ditch effort to win a one on one fight without plates or a decent weapon.

6 Evel Knievel

Nearly every squad has the one player that enjoys riding around in vehicles to a fault. To make this squad mate of use, he or she can be a distraction in a chaotic gunfight. When a vehicle is on the mini map, opposing teams will have their eyes glued to the vehicle or the map. Enemies out in the open will have to avoid getting ran over and try to find cover, which is an impossible task. Vehicles can be used to get players to peek, as well as draw their attention from the rest of the team.

5 Most Wanted Contract

Grabbing one of these contracts is a fool proof way to draw enemy teams in. The assumption is that a Most Wanted player will be alone, but a lot of teams have been employing the strategy early to mid game in order to get enough cash for a loadout and UAVs. At least one team will see the crown on the map and b-line to the indicator. Little does that team know, there are three other teammates with guns ready to kill them.

4 An Unfortunate Care Package

The inconsistent audio in Warzone will often allow players to parachute right on top of an enemy's head and beat them down. Successfully dropping on an enemy will require an accomplice.

One member of a team will lay down fire to keep the enemy's attention, emptying a clip as the other teammate flies back in. By the time the enemy notices, it is too late. After two quick pistol whips, the opponent will be sent to the Gulag. This method is circumstantial, but it is only of the best ways to get the jump on rooftop campers.

3 Door Desync

The main reason why top level players smash open doors is because it causes a desync between what the player opening the door sees and what the opponent sees. Whether it is ping or a bug in the game, the aggressor that jumps through a door will always have a few hundred milliseconds of an advantage. If gamers are approaching a doorway, the door should always be closed. As soon as the team is close to the door, players should jump through to give themselves that split second advantage.

2 Vertical Flanks And Pinches

It is getting harder to pull basic tactical movements off in Warzone. That being said, well organized flanks and pinches are still effective if the timing is right. The two story buildings near the Airport hangers are great places to do this. If a team is approaching the building, one player should plan to drop down behind them while the others protect the stairwell. Likewise, the aggressors should have one player use the ladder or get an angle on the roof. Pinches and flanks are always easier with Dead Silence.

1 Corner And Doorway Bait

In corners, doorways, hallways, and any other confined spaces, there is a way to punish sweaty tactics. It is often the case that one user will be behind cover, and the other will identify them and move toward their location. The player behind cover has a few options. They can stand and fight from that spot or relocate for example.

However, the best tactic is to time when the enemy will turn the corner or open the door using audio cues. At the same time, the person behind cover should sprint and jump directly toward the enemy as they move around the corner or into the doorway. Because both players are moving, the opponent will end up facing the person's initial location. The player that was behind cover now has free shots into the enemy's back.
