Resident Evil Village will throw players into a terrifying discarded mine, and if they don't get the boat key, they will never make it out alive.

Resident Evil Village throws players into a terrifying town, desperately fighting off werewolves and vampires in a desperate attempt to save their daughter. The game's various locations provide all manner of treasure, challenges, and horrors for players to contend with. As they explore the flooded town area near Moreau's Reservoir, players will realize that they are not going to get to safety without a boat.

To use a boat, they will first need to track down a Boat Key, and for this, they will need to venture deep into the mines. After players grab the flask from Moreau and start making their way through the tunnels. It is a good idea to use the shotgun for this section, as there will be plenty of werewolves to deal with.

The good news is that, unlike many areas in Resident Evil Village,  the path is fairly linear here, and players should follow the tunnels until they come to a wooden structure. They can find some stairs to the left of it that will bring them to a walkway. Shooting the broken beam with the yellow tape on the right will cause some boards to fall, allowing them to move further into the mines.

Continuing down this tunnel will bring them to a move open area with a house, a tree with some dead bodies hanging from it, and lots of werewolves to contend with. This is actually one of the toughest parts of the game so far, as enemies flood the area. Take cover in the house and drag the bookshelf in front of the door to provide cover. Players should play patiently here, taking out enemies when they can, as they cannot change the difficulty of the campaign once they have started it. The toughest enemy to deal with is the werewolf with the armored helmet, and players can crack it with gunfire to break it, then follow up with headshots to finish off the beast.

Once all the enemies are dealt with, players can grab the Boat Key from the noticeboard on the wall of the house. They can then retrace their footsteps to make their way outside, where they will find a boat tied up against a pier. The next section of the game will lead to some bombastic action and puzzle-solving. Players should make sure that they solve the Labyrinth puzzle in Moreau's area before leaving it for good.

Resident Evil Village is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
