An extremely dedicated Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War player recreates its multiplayer music using guns from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War may be a divisive game due to its bugs and launch state, but one thing that most fans agree on is the quality of its music. One dedicated Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War player took this appreciation to the next level, recreating a menu track using only in-game guns.

The track itself was composed by Jack Wall, who has worked with Treyarch for several years. Composing iconic music from numerous Treyarch games, including some of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’s iconic melodies, Wall’s work has been heavily praised by Call of Duty fans. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s menu music is no different, and Redditor umarftw1’s love for the song saw the player firing guns to recreate its beat.

Rather than re-creating the music in the game where it is normally heard, though, umarftw1 decided to use Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s guns to make the song work. In the background, the choir can be heard singing softly, with the entirety of the beat made up of weapon sounds. In the clip, the R90 and Model 680 shotguns are seen pumping rounds into the air, with pistols like the M19, 1911, and Desert Eagle also playing a role. The CR-56 AMAX, MP7, and HDR contribute to the symphony as well.

Along the way, the player gets creative with some of the sounds, using equipment to recreate some of the noises heard in the piece. In particular, a frag grenade is pulled and a claymore is readied on a few specific occasions. The highlight of the clip is undoubtedly the beat dropping, which occurs at about 15 seconds into the clip. The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fan does a great job of building up to the moment, with the use of shotguns ensuring that the track gets more intense.

Each of the player’s guns are covered in Damascus camo, confirming that they have spent a lot of time inside the 2019 game. This short clip also took a lot of time, with umarftw1 stating that it took 30 hours of work to get the theme re-made. While all that effort only resulted in a 20-second clip, the gamer is proud of his accomplishment, and it is easy to see why. Though it is short, this remake of Jack Wall’s Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War theme is spectacular.

With the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Black Ops universes officially crossing over via Price’s cameo as an Operator, it is great to see fans continuing the trend. It will be interesting to see what umarftw1 does next, too, as there are plenty more themes to remake.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
