In a recent interview with GameRant, Chivalry 2 composer J. D. Spears confirms that a soundtrack album is in the works and coming soon.

Game Rant recently had a chance to chat with J. D. Spears, the composer for the upcoming Chivalry 2. While Spears shared a ton of valuable insight about the game itself and how the music complements its action, he also confirmed that there is a soundtrack album in the works. At the moment, there's no indication as to when that will be made available or how fans will be able to listen to it, but it's definitely something to look forward to. Those that have already heard Spears' music in the game will be able to see why easily.

Chivalry 2 recently hosted a beta, and while many players were no doubt focused on the swordplay and combat, it was also the first time that they got the chance to hear what the game's music would sound like. Spears talks a lot about how the game's sound design influenced his composition, and the result is something truly beautiful and unique.

"Please go and buy Chivalry 2 on June 8th! And stay tuned for news on the soundtrack."

At the interview's conclusion, Spears had this to say when asked if there was anything he'd like to share with Game Rant's readers. First and foremost, players that are interested in Chivalry 2 should certainly consider buying it, but he also goes on to say that fans should stay tuned for news on the soundtrack. As this was towards the end of the interview, Spears didn't elaborate more on what exactly he meant by that, but it seems like players will be getting some good news soon. Following Spears on Twitter is a good way to hear about that as soon as it happens.

"The music at the beginning of any given match is tied to the specific map you are playing on. From there the game randomly selects the combat music you will hear as the game progresses. Sometimes the music is triggered by the amount of time left, but in other cases dynamic versions of the music are triggered. These dynamic versions contain additional sections that allow the music to play for longer without repeating."

The soaring melodies of the Chivalry 2 soundtrack will no doubt be a thrill to listen to, but in game players may be somewhat limited in this regard. As explained above, the music in the game is tied to the map that players are playing on, and from then on it seems to be mostly randomly selected or triggered by certain events. Players that want to listen to Chivalry 2's music uninterrupted will want to purchase the soundtrack. With any luck, more information will become available on that soon.

Chivalry 2 releases on June 8th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
