Players on the hunt for the Lynx mount must first make their way through the first story mission for the Wrath of the Druids DLC.

The latest DLC for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Wrath of the Druids, boasts new armor sets, mounts, and missions. One of the more interesting of these additions is the Lynx mount, which gives players the opportunity to travel across the world on a giant Lynx. While this mount doesn't improve Eivor's chances at completing the main arc of Wrath of the Druids, it does provide a wild look to anyone's playthrough.

In order for players to achieve this goal of riding a giant Lynx in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, they must start the Wrath of the Druids DLC and complete the first story mission of the main arc: Blood Bond. This mission begins and ends in the city of Dublin on the East coast of Ireland. Specifically, it starts right off of the boat at the very beginning of the DLC.

Once off of the boat in Ireland, the player begins Wrath of the Druids by meeting Barid, Eivor's cousin and King of Dublin. Follow him around the city and complete the bow challenge on the walk in order to win the Norse Gael Bow. Once the walk is over, the next step involves walking around the celebration Barid is having for his son, Sichfrith, and, unfortunately for the latter, fighting that very son in a fistfight. Once the son is beaten, the player must locate Barid along the outskirts of Dublin. He is located just to the South of the city, up on a hill that is home to a large tree and a graveyard.

After a cutscene, the player must escort Barid back to Dublin and face off against hidden enemies along the way. Once the King is returned safely, a cutscene triggers and the mount is a piece of the reward once it is through. Now that the mount is available, Assassin's Creed Valhalla players just need to head to the nearby Stable and talk to the merchant in order to equip it. Once equipped, the giant Lynx reacts just like any other mount and comes at an extended whistle.

Notable is that this mount offers no bonuses and the only thing that separates it from the horse mounts in the game is its unique look. It has been said that this mount randomly appears in the inventory of Ravensthorpe's Opal Merchant but there is no reliable way to predict if or when it would be available for purchase. For the moment, the most reliable way to transverse the world of Assassin's Creed Valhalla on a Lynx is through the completion of this first mission in Wrath of the Druids.

Players who have captured this mount may be interested in the various mounts available in the in-game store under the companions tab. Notable among the options for Assassin's Creed Valhalla players is the Hati Wolf that can be purchased solely or along with the Berserker Gear pack.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
