Lady Dimitrescu is Resident Evil Village's breakout star, and there's a lot more to this vampire than just a great design.

The beautiful Countess, Lady Dimitrescu, has made her way across all corners of the internet but beyond her looks, much about her is still left unknown. Lady Dimitrescu is much more than just a pretty face; she's got her own accolades and reasons to be both feared and respected in Resident Evil 8's Village and also within the Resident Evil community.

Although the series has introduced the likes of zombies and lickers, the world of werewolves and vampires is new territory for Resident Evil. For fans that wish to know more about the Countess, here are a few things you may not already know about the notorious "giant vampire lady" of Resident Evil Village.

Disclaimer: Spoilers ahead!

8 Her Full Name Is Lady Alcina Dimitrescu

Lady Dimitrescu definitely caught everyone's attention right from her first reveal. Fans knew her as the "giant vampire lady", among other less sophisticated nicknames. Lady Dimitrescu is not a force to be reckoned with and so it's only natural that players know her title with the formalities attached.

It's incredibly rare to ever hear any characters in the game refer to Lady Dimitrescu by her full name. For those that are lucky enough to be on a first-name basis with the lovely Countess, she goes by Lady Alcina Dimitrescu; the Countess and matriarch of the Dimitrescu family. Lady Alcina may be a Countess and a beautiful vampire lady but she's definitely more than just her title!

7 She Is A Whopping 9 Feet, 6 Inches Tall

In case fans weren't all that impressed by her sheer size, fans took it upon themselves to make charts comparing other Resident Evil characters in the series to the towering beauty that is Lady Dimitrescu.

After the game's art director, Tomonori Takano confirmed what the Countess's canon height was, fans immediately lined her up alongside other beloved Resident Evil enemies. Standing at a whopping 9 feet and 6 inches tall, this makes the lovely Dimitrescu taller than both Mr. X and Nemesis.

6 She "Created" Her Three Daughters

In a few notes (written by Lady Dimitrescu herself) found within the Opera Hall, the player can discover the truth about Lady Dimitrescu's "daughters": Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela. In hopes of having a real family of loving daughters, Lady Dimitrescu, with the help of Mother Miranda, subjected a certain strain of mutated and carnivorous bugs to the nearly lifeless bodies of the three girls until they were completely consumed. After being consumed, they reformed, now fully constituted as a mass of blood-thirsty bugs in the form of human girls.

In this journal, the player sees the (almost) heartfelt intentions of Lady Dimitrescu. She was incredibly fond of the girls right from the beginning as she mentions a form of mother-daughter bond between them after their treatment was finished.

It appears that vampirism didn't stop Lady Dimitrescu from her dreams of motherhood. No matter how cruel the Countess is, the love for her three daughters definitely shows a different side to the antagonist.

5 She Is Forever 44 Years Young

Mother Miranda is the one Lady Dimitrescu has to thank for her beloved "gift". All of Lady Dimitrescu's powers are thanks to being infected by the Cadou, a B.O.W that Mother Miranda exposed her to sometime during the 1950s. This infection is what gives Lady Dimitrescu her regenerative qualities and also forces her to rely on human blood/flesh consumption in order to maintain her powers.

One of the passive benefits of Lady Dimitrescu's infection is that her appearance is the same as it was from when she was first infected. Her aging process was stopped at the age of 44, leaving her with the beauty she once had, years ago. Although much older than she looks, Lady Dimitrescu was likely born in the 1900s, yet doesn't look a day over 40!

4 She Is One Of The Lords Of The Four Houses

The Village is a quiet community that is devout to its leader, Mother Miranda. This Village is governed by the Four Houses or The Four Lords, who then are also led by the highly regarded Mother Miranda. Founded in 1910 to around 1950, the Four Houses consists of the Heisenburg family, the Moreau family, and the Beneviento family, and of course, the Dimitrescu family.

The reason Lady Dimitrescu is so well respected within the Village is that she is one of the Four Houses, which means she is in charge of governing over one of the four regions. Lady Dimitrescu isn't all talk; she may look up to Mother Miranda but that doesn't mean she doesn't know how to be a strong leader herself.

3 She Strives To Be Mother Miranda's Favorite

In a note found in Lady Dimitrescu's room, it's revealed that the seemingly fearless leader still has her fair share of insecurities. Although standing as one of the Four Lords of the Village, she feels as if she is deserving of much more respect than her fellow leaders.

Lady Dimitrescu despises being held to the same level of respect as Heisenburg especially, disregarding him as childish and irresponsible. Lady Dimitrescu shows a bit of relatable vulnerability in her private journal as she writes about how grateful she is for her castle, daughters, and "everlasting life" given to her by Mother Miranda and that she feels deeply about being their leader's favorite.

2 She Is The Mr.X/Nemesis Of Resident Evil Village

While many fans were too busy being caught up in the hype of Lady Dimitrescu's beauty, others were speculating about her role in the game. One theory was that Lady Dimitrescu was to be a final boss with interactions far and few between.

In the first few hours of the game, it teases the player with small glimpses of Lady Dimitrescu throughout the castle; just missing her as she made her way out of each room. However, after an aggressive run-in with the Countess, it is made clear that she will be the "stalker" enemy of the game like Mr. X and Nemesis. From then on, Ethan is in constant fear of being pursued all throughout the castle every step of the way.

1 She Has A Terrifying Final Form

Many fans were skeptical right from the beginning. Sure, the fandom has been blessed with the glamorous Lady Dimitrescu, but how long was she to be this beautiful? In a world filled with terrifying B.O.Ws, it's no surprise that the Countess would eventually somehow mutate into a much larger, scarier, more threatening enemy by the end of the game. Ethan even takes his time to make a fun quip about her transformation before getting ready to defeat her.

This time around, the fans were dead on and predicted Lady Dimitrescu's horrific "final form" perfectly. Avid Resident Evil fans can't be fooled by even Lady Dimitrescu's beauty; the enemies in the series are almost always much deadlier than they first appear.
