A new selection of games are being released on Xbox Game Pass today, including the classic PS2 JRPG Final Fantasy 10 and its sequel.

Xbox Game Pass continues to be the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles' biggest selling point more than six months after the next generation began. The subscription service offers a library of games for an affordable price, a point of comparison to the PS5's $70 exclusives. To keep Xbox Game Pass immediately appealing requires a constant stream of new games, though. Xbox continues to deliver on that front even now, with several new additions including Final Fantasy 10 arriving today.

Five new games, or technically six, are arriving on Xbox Game Pass as of May 13. Those games start with Red Dead Online, the multiplayer half of Red Dead Redemption 2. The single-player Red Dead Redemption was available in mid-2020, but hasn't come back after leaving this past August. There's some speculation that Red Dead Redemption 2 could come back to Xbox Game Pass, too, after some teaser-y language from Melissa McGamePass earlier this year. There's nothing confirmed yet, however.

The next largest addition has got to be the Final Fantasy 10 and Final Fantasy 10-2 HD remaster bundle, technically two games rather than just one. The addition marks the continued growing relationship between Xbox and Square Enix. There's still a lot of work to be done, as many Square Enix games still don't come to Xbox and others end up as PlayStation exclusives. Bringing lots of great classic Final Fantasy games and other titles to Game Pass is a great start, though.

As for the remaining three new Game Pass additions, there's Psychonauts to start. Psychonauts will offer Xbox gamers the opportunity to play the 2005 classic ahead of the launch of Psychonauts 2 later this year. Next is Just Cause 4: Reloaded, another Square Enix-published game and the latest release in the Just Cause franchise. And lastly Remnant: From the Ashes, the virally popular action-RPG from Gunfire Games.

There's some split regarding which games will be available on which consoles. Red Dead Online is available on both console and via xCloud. Final Fantasy 10/10-2 is on both PC and console. Remnant: From the Ashes is a PC-exclusive addition. Then both Just Cause 4: Reloaded and Psychonauts are each available on PC, cloud, and console.

With new additions come departures as well. On May 15 six different games will be removed from Xbox Game Pass. those games include Alan Wake, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2, Dungeon of the Endless, Final Fantasy 9, Hotline Miami, and Plebby Quest: The Crusades. The cycle of fresh Xbox Game Pass content continues. Expect to hear about more Xbox Game Pass games for the second half of May and beyond soon.
