A LEGO builder creates a farmhouse scene inspired by 'another morning in Stardew Valley,' capturing a lot of smaller details from the game.

Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone's indie farming simulator Stardew Valley is as popular as ever thanks to its solid base mechanics and a number of updates released since 2016. The most recent Version 1.5 update introduced a host of content, including a new locale called Ginger Island, which was inspired by Super Mario 64. However, the game's simple premise of moving out to the countryside and starting a farm near a small town is still one of its biggest appeals, as seen by a recent LEGO fan creation.

Stardew Valley players begin the game with little more than a farmhouse surrounded by a plot of land with overgrown trees, weeds, and unbreakable stones. Over time these obstacles can be cleared away, leaving a lot of potential for impressive farm designs - including Reddit user StardewValleyTanner's farm developed over 20 in-game years. That said, the aesthetic of a basic farm with just a few crops planted near a player's farmhouse can be just as appealing.

Reddit user RyantheAmazing, who goes by Ryan_builds on Instagram, translated elements of Stardew Valley into LEGO and posted their take on a farmhouse scene to the r/lego subreddit yesterday. It has received nearly 2,000 upvotes as of this writing, with a cross-post by user Eren-Eren on r/StardewValley also receiving a great deal of attention. The farmhouse accurate to its in-game counterpart with a woodpile and green-shuttered window, and it is surrounded by a mailbox, shipping bin, as well as crops, animals, and a fruit tree.

There are a number of smaller, more clever details hidden in the LEGO build that fans may notice. For example, the collection of pumpkins on the rightmost side of the farming plot has one less-developed crop, and the wood path leading up to the farmhouse is built askew. One of Stardew Valley's quality sprinklers is also seen in the center of a ring of crops.

A number of fan-made LEGO projects have appeared online over the years because of how much potential the building blocks offer thanks to their simple interlocking design. Some builds like RyantheAmazing's take on Stardew Valley or Super Mario Odyssey found on Instagram are only visual recreations, but fans have been able to make more impressive mechanical devices like a working PlayStation made out of LEGO.

As iconic as Stardew Valley has become over the years, with the potential to grow further thanks to updates and side projects including a board game, the LEGO aesthetic no doubt holds a bigger place in the collective consciousness. One fan of the look is working on a Minecraft texture pack based on LEGO bricks, bringing the building blocks into another popular sandbox game.

Stardew Valley is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
