With Call of Duty: Warzone taken into the '80s, the developers have opened the door for another movie crossover with multiple era-appropriate action heroes. Call of Duty officially announced that the developers will add Rambo and John McClane to multiple titles, including Call of Duty: Warzone. This 80s themed event will allow players to recreate their action movie moments within the shooter environment.
The first teaser released was for Rambo, with a Call of Duty: Warzone record card displayed prominently in the teaser post. Shortly after, the developers released a special Die Hard-themed website that advertised the best in air duct cleaning. With both heroes confirmed for release, the official Call of Duty action hero event will begin in full force.

Both of the 80s action heroes will make their way to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Call of Duty: Warzone, and Call of Duty: Mobile. The promo reveals a single image with Rambo prominently displayed on the right, and the famous Nakatomi Tower positioned on the left. In the center are several villain-looking elements paired with an action movie aesthetic that makes the promotion look like a movie poster. While full details remain unknown, the Call of Duty Twitter has confirmed May 20 as the official start date for this event.
Earlier Call of Duty leaks revealed that the action heroes already have models within the game. While many fans believe that this model is badly proportioned, the iconic look is still present within both of the characters. It is unclear if the models will look the same in their Call of Duty: Warzone or Call of Duty: Mobile versions, but engine differences may add more meat to the action heroes' bodies.
Previously, Call of Duty: Warzone crossovers included Jigsaw's Billy and the iconic murder from Texas Chainsaw Massacre Leatherface. This set clear precedence for movie integration in Call of Duty: Warzone, and the introduction of action heroes is a logical next step for 1984 Verdansk.
It is unclear if these are the only two heroes making their way into the game, as some earlier rumors suggested Terminator may also be on the horizon. The Call of Duty: Warzone teasers have driven fans into a flurry as many have a list of heroes they hope appear during this event. Possible additional options may appear as May 20th launches Verdansk into an action movie experience.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
