Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer has Guardians busy with all the ways to earn new weapons, armor, and Stasis aspects. However, some may find that deep-seated nostalgia for older weapons still rings true, especially for Hunters.
While it's far from the strongest sword in the game (that's between Falling Guillotine and The Lament), Quickfang more than makes up for it in cool points. That's to say that the Legendary weapon has a samurai warrior feel to it that makes any Hunter look like a lethal killing machine. Combined with the right perks, even the top-tier swords might find Quickfang to be a true rival.

If it wasn't obvious by now, the Quickfang is reserved solely for the hands of the ninja-like Hunter. Warlocks and Titans have their own class-specific swords that also come with their own special perks and attacks, so they shouldn't feel too left out. What is especially an issue is that Quickfang was previously obtained by completing the Destiny 2 campaign and speaking to the late Cayde-6, or completing a specific quest for it. None of that is possible now, leaving the sword supposedly unobtainable.
Still, there is one way in which Hunters can claim a piece of the past, though it's far more complicated than one would expect. As of now, the only way to obtain Quickfang is from Legendary World Drops. More specifically, it can only drop from Legendary Engrams found anywhere in the game. This sounds easy at first, although taking into account the fact that world drops are random, as are the item inside, the time that would be needed to grind for it is a little off-putting.
Granted, grinding in Destiny 2 isn't a new thing, especially with the armor transmog system. On the other hand, some may find that for a weapon that is only stylish and fun, a devotion to grinding for it isn't very much worth it. A good way to circumvent that is to not make it the main objective and instead look out for one while completing other activities. One thing to keep in mind is that the first one that drops probably won't be the best possible one, as the perks it rolls with are entirely random.
Then again, a sword meant to be stylish and fun probably has no qualms with not being an endgame weapon. In terms of favorites, however, it's clear that the Quickfang has some real staying power.
Destiny 2: Beyond Light and the new Season of the Splicer are available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
