Capcom takes down several Resident Evil 8: Village leaks after gameplay from one of the title's main boss fights makes its way online.

After debuting a showcase focusing on the game last week, Resident Evil 8: Village has quickly become a big talking point online, with players discussing the game's creepy new setting and callbacks to Resident Evil 4With series mainstay Chris Redfield returning in an antagonistic role, the imposing Lady Dimitrescu discussing creepy rituals, and an eerie figure known as Miranda being name-dropped, the game's mysteries are a big part of its appeal.

However, some have been eager to uncover these secrets well before the game's release date this May, with leaks surfacing online that give away what appears to be one of Resident Evil 8: Village's biggest set-pieces. Capcom has been proactive with removing these leaks since they debuted, however, ensuring players don't see any juicy details regarding the game's plot before its release.

The leaks have reportedly been sourced via a developer build of the game and showcase some new encounters between Ethan and Lady Dimitrescu. The main clip that's surfaced allegedly focuses on the protagonist battling the towering head vampire in a high-stakes boss battle, so those wanting to go in completely fresh should be careful when browsing the internet for the next few days. While it was pretty inevitable that the two would come to blows at some point in the new game, Resident Evil has always been a franchise that throws memorable and inventive boss encounters at the player, so going in blind is sure to make for a better experience.

As for where the developer's build being used came from, the prevailing theory appears to be the recent Capcom leak that occurred back in November. The company, which was hit by a devastating ransomware attack, saw personal information and company plans revealed to the public, with a new Ace Attorney game and details on Monster Hunter Rise quickly spreading across the web. Resident Evil 8 also saw some major leaks due to the hack, with significant story details for the game being leaked.

Those waiting to see Resident Evil 8: Village's big moments in-game will likely be rewarded, with the sequel shaping up to be one of the series' best entries yet. Its story, which focuses on Ethan Winters searching for his missing child while being stalked by intimidating vampires and werewolves, looks to be filled with twists and turns, and its combat seems much deeper than its first-person predecessor. The game will launch this May, with a second demo slated to hit all consoles before it makes its way to shelves.

Resident Evil 8: Village launches May 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
