Resident Evil Village, like many of the modern Resident Evil games, is a relatively linear experience. There are sections with broader exploration and it's not uncommon to get turned around, but for the most part players are only ever focused on a single goal at a time. That's what makes finding alternate paths particularly exciting, especially when the developer rewards players, as Capcom appears to have done in a Resident Evil Village sequence being shared on TikTok.
Resident Evil Village players should be quite familiar with Lady Dimitrescu's daughters. The vampiric daughters' ability to burst into clouds of flies is haunting as they stalk Ethan Winters throughout the game's castle area. For most players, fighting Lady Dimitrescu's daughters will feel like a linear path where Bela comes first, as it's in running away from Bela that players discover how to defeat the daughters.

What many players may not have realized is the remaining two daughters, Daniela and Cassandra, can be fought in any order. Daniela is found in the library of the castle, while Cassandra is fought in the armory. Depending on which order the player fights the daughters, Capcom changed a scene featuring Lady Dimitrescu. In one scene, as shown in the viral TikTok, she'll beckon Cassandra and demand "that man's head." In the other, she'll beckon Cassandra and grow very angry at the realization that her daughter has been killed.
One possibility that the TikTok video doesn't show is that if the player gets the attention of Lady Dimitrescu or Cassandra in this scene, they'll both start chasing the player. Cassandra is the one daughter who commonly hunts Ethan Winters as he explores the castle, but it's rare to catch both of them chasing Ethan at the same time.
Dealing with Cassandra first does seem to be the more common path, as the TikTok user implies. Cassandra tends to usher players toward the armory. As such, lots of players perhaps never got to see the scene in this TikTok. It's also possible players missed it accidentally, or think the scene is cool in general given Lady Dimitrescu is a fan-favorite character.
Regardless, the sequence going viral just goes to show how much players appreciate these small acknowledgments of their decisions. The castle in Resident Evil Village doesn't lend itself to many divergent paths, but small touches can make it seem like a bigger stage.
Resident Evil Village is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S.
