Born in Darkness is a quest in Destiny 2 that becomes available after the completion of the Beyond Light expansion's main storyline. Completing this quest will give players an aspect for the stasis subclass as well as stasis fragments, unlocking a whole new array of abilities for the Darkness-based subclass.
Not long after the release of the Destiny 2 expansion Beyond Light last year, content creator Karpo Gaming posted a video that guides players through each step of completing the Born in Darkness quest.

The first step is to talk to the Exo Stranger on Europa after completion of the main Destiny 2 storyline, who will give the player the Born in Darkness quest. Objective number one will be to collect 50 Energized Ether from the Fallen on Europa and execute 10 final blows with the stasis melee ability.
Next, players must complete three vanguard strikes while equipped with their stasis subclass and kill 60 enemies affected by stasis during these strikes. Karpo points out in the video that these kills can come from stasis abilities or stasis weapons, like the Salvation's Grip Exotic grenade launcher.
After completing those strikes, players will have to defeat Weniks's platoon, and they are hiding out near the Crux of Darkness in Eternity. To get there, fast travel to Charon's Crossing on Europa and highlight the objective on the map. The quest indicator will easily guide players through the Crux of Darkness.
At this point, the Skeleton Key given by the Exo Stranger will be fully empowered, and players will have to meet with the stranger in the Bunker E15 Lost Sector. The entrance to the Lost Sector is located in the Eventide Ruins and is marked with a Lost Sector symbol. Players simply need to descend downwards to find the Lost Sector and navigate their way through.
Players will speak with the Exo Stranger, who will then ask them to meet again in the original spot where the quest began. The next part will require the previously mentioned exotic weapon, Salvation's Grip, which is unlocked by speaking with the Drifter in the Tower and completing the "Stasis Prototype" quest.
Players will now have to find and destroy five Entropic Shards on Europa, which can only be destroyed by Salvation's Grip. These Dorito-shaped objects can be somewhat difficult to find, so check the map below for all of the Entropic Shard locations on Europa.
Now the quest requires players to return the Crux of Darkness to its rightful place, which happens to be the same place that players acquire the Salvation's Grip exotic grenade launcher. Players will have to defeat several waves of enemies and an overlord and commune with the Crux of Darkness. With that, the quest is complete and the new stasis aspect is unlocked.
Destiny 2: Beyond Light is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
