The Season 3 balancing update in Warzone was one of the biggest changes in the game thus far. The FFAR has finally been given a substantial nerf, which will have a huge impact on its usage. The burst weapons were given slight damage reductions and impactful burst delay nerfs. It is a great time to be a Warzone player now that the average times to kill are within a reasonable range.

Raven made surprising changes to the AK-47 (CW), Krig-6, QBZ 83, Fara 83, and Mac-10 as well. Both the AK-47 and Fara 83 have much-improved recoil plots, making them viable in any mode. The slight nerf to the MAC-10 did not ruin the weapon, but it will take an extra bullet to kill an enemy player. This guide will cover the ten best primary weapons after all of these amazing changes.
10 FARA 83
The FARA 83 was not viable last season because it had terrible recoil and the FFAR killed enemies quicker. Raven decided to convert the FARA from a close-range AR to a versatile and well-rounded weapon. The weapon's recoil was drastically reduced, making the gun usable at extended ranges.
Raven also reduced the damage slightly, but the Fara will still down fully plated enemies in 600 milliseconds. This time to kill mirrors the M4, but the FARA has slightly less recoil. Expect a lot of people to be using the FARA in Season 3.
9 Krig 6
Raven gave the Krig 6 a torso damage buff, which reduced its time to kill almost 100 milliseconds. The Krig has been an accurate and reliable weapon, but it did not down enemies fast enough to compete with the Season 3 meta.
The assault rifle now has similar damage values to the Kilo and Grau. However, the Krig has a better TTK than the Grau and better range values than the Kilo. Between the three weapons, the Krig 6 is now the best option for a long-range AR.
8 CR-56 AMAX
The AMAX was not a part of the balancing update, but Raven stated that they will be monitoring it in the coming weeks. The weapon has been a top-tier option since it was introduced last summer. With the huge nerfs to the FFAR and Groza, the AMAX is now the clear winner in terms of TTK.

The AS VAL will down enemies faster, but it is still a niche weapon because of magazine limitations. The AMAX is incredible at less than 50 meters and can be used as a sniper support gun as well. With a TTK potential of 465 milliseconds, the AMAX can compete with the MP5s at close range. Gamers can expect the Amax to be one of the most used weapons this season unless Raven step in and make changes.
7 M4A1
The meta in Warzone has come full circle for the M4, which can now be used as a primary weapon once again. At this point, it feels nostalgic to have the M4 in loadouts. The gun is competitive at long range, has controllable recoil, and has a 60 round magazine.
In gunfights beyond 50 or so meters, it can be hard to keep the weapon on target. However, the M4 can be used in a variety of ways, and the changes in Season 3 make it one of the top weapons to use going forward.
6 RAM-7
The RAM-7 was never a popular weapon in Warzone, and there are a few reasons why. It has a fast fire rate with moderate recoil, which can be troublesome beyond 20 meters. The largest magazine for the gun is 50 rounds, which does not feel like enough for a gun that fires at 857 rpm.

The recoil of the RAM is actually quite manageable if players can get used to the unique pattern. It may down enemies slower than the AMAX, but the RAM's fast fire rate makes the gun far more forgiving. The weapon shines as a sniper support gun and can be used at intermediate ranges with a VLK 3.0x optic.
5 MP5 (MW)
Much like the M4, the MP5 has been an amazing weapon since the launch of Warzone. Within 10 meters, the MP5 has a competitive TTK and is very easy to use. With the 5mw laser, the MP5 excels in tight, chaotic gunfights.
It will not take out enemies as fast as its Cold War counterpart, but there is less of a learning curve with the gun. Up to 20 meters recoil is not an issue, and 45 rounds are enough to down at least two opponents. The SMG will return to loadouts this season.
4 MP5 (CW)
The Cold War version of the MP5 will down enemies faster than the other SMGs on this list. However, the gun has a ton of vertical recoil. The further away an enemy is, the more difficult it will be to land shots with the gun.
Between the two MP5s, it is honestly just a matter of preference. Players that do not mind the recoil will have a better TTK with the Cold War option. Those that are used to the old MP5 will probably prefer to use it despite a lower theoretical TTK.
3 Bullfrog
After the MAC-10 nerf, the Bullfrog is cemented in the meta as a top three SMG. It is not the strongest SMG, but it has the best recoil plot of the other close-range options on this list. Mixing in a few headshots while using the gun will drop the time it takes to down an enemy substantially. Gamers will love using the Bullfrog, which can be paired with an AR or sniper.
2 PKM
The Stoner and RPD are certainly viable options as well, but the Modern Warfare attachments give the edge to the PKM and Bruen. The PKM has great recoil and damage values for a primary weapon. The movement penalty and slow reload time makes using the gun a hassle. Players that down mind moving a little slower and waiting for the reload will have a blast using the gun in Warzone.
1 Bruen MK9
Few players used the Bruen in the past couple of seasons. Nerfs to recoil, as well as damage values, made the gun harder to use. Despite these negative changes, the Bruen will still compete with the best long-range weapons in the game.
Rubberized grip tape should be equipped to tone down the recoil, and the Tac Laser will improve ADS speed with the stock magazine. The 60 round mags are tempting, but they increase recoil far too much to be worth the movement and ADS benefits.
