Diablo 2: Resurrected is likely the most anticipated remaster of the year, and while there's many choices, there's a good case to go Amazon.

Diablo 2: Resurrected will be releasing later this year, and it is arguably one of the most anticipated games of 2021 thanks to how popular and beloved Diablo 2 was. Diablo 2: Resurrected is going to be a faithfully remastered edition, and as such, very little should change in terms of gameplay, classes, attributes, skills, and most of the other elements in the game. Long-time Diablo 2 fans are now already debating which class is the best one to pick when starting out on Diablo 2: Resurrected when it releases, and while some players will try out new builds, others will remain loyal to those that made them fall in love with the original title from Blizzard.

There is a total of seven classes in Diablo 2: Resurrected, including the Barbarian, the Assassin, the Necromancer, the Druid, the Sorceress, the Paladin, and, of course, the Amazon. A potent female warrior, the Amazon wreaks havoc on her enemies with many different tools of destruction, including bow and quiver, crossbow, spears, javelins, and a little magic, too. The Amazon is one of the most well-rounded classes in terms of starting stats and attributes, and she is also one of the few characters to gain 3 hit points per point spent in Vitality, making stacking this attribute an appealing option. However, her base Mana is a bit lacking, and the amount she gains per point spent in Energy is just average, making it harder to go for builds using very expensive skills Mana-wise. Nonetheless, there are plenty of reasons to go Amazon on release.

The Amazon is a great character to choose when first beginning the journey into the world of Diablo 2: Resurrected, and the number of solid builds available for her is astounding. One of the things that the Amazon excels at is dishing out incredible damage to single targets, unlike the Sorceress' outstanding AoE skills that kill off entire groups of enemies at once, but the Amazon's clearing abilities are still great. Overall, one of the main reasons why players should consider playing as the Amazon at launch when Diablo 2: Resurrected releases is that she has lots of build variety, both for PvE and PvP, making for a greatly balanced character.

While the Amazon is a great character, she often requires heavy investment in terms of gear to shine outside of her Lightning Fury build, which can reportedly clear Diablo 2 smoothly. This means that, for other build choices, a great starter is the lightning version of the Amazon; otherwise, players can start a bit slower but end really strong on a high note when the endgame is approached. The Amazon spear and javelin skill kits are not limited to lightning damage, though, and poison builds are also very viable. The elemental affinity this fierce warrior has is one that allows her to freely switch from one element to another, from elemental damage to physical or vice versa, and this is what makes the Amazon such a great class in terms of versatility.

The Lightning Javazon - This build revolves around javelins paired with Lightning Fury and Charged Strike, and the name "Javazon" is of course a combination of the words "javelin" and "Amazon." Given how damage scaling works in Diablo 2, and presumably in Diablo 2: Resurrected as well, the fact that this build mainly deals lightning damage means that there will be very few enemies capable of resisting its skills, while the rest will be obliterated in a matter of seconds. Lightning Fury is the skill to use when there are many enemies to take care of at once, while Charged Strike is the players' best friend when it comes to erasing from the face of the Earth bosses and tougher enemies.

There are enemies immune to lightning as well, though, which is why this build uses Jab to take care of them because it deals physical damage, instead, and it doesn't require tons of points to be spent on it, working even with a single point. Alternatively, a more balanced version of this build would go all the way to take Freezing Arrow to 20 so that simply by swapping weapons the Javazon becomes a Bowazon capable of dealing with annoying lightning-immune enemies.

The Bowazon, also known as the Strafezon - The Amazon is great at dealing a lot of damage from a distance, but for her to achieve this and to keep those attacks up she needs to stand still, which means that the best tool from the Amazon's kit to accomplish this is to use the Valkyrie to tank and distract enemies. Having a powerful mercenary also helps a lot, and it works wonders for every Bowazon build, allowing the Amazon to position herself better, using Decoy for emergencies. The best skills to use from the Bow and Crossbow tree are Strafe and Freezing Arrow, with the former being the most powerful attack DPS-wise, while the latter is used to slow enemies down and to take care of physical-immune monsters.

The Angelzon - This very peculiar build is alluring thanks to its obscure mechanics and due to the fact that it uses skills hitting multiple enemies at once to proc specific effects from the Amazon's items, making for a very niche, yet very fun playstyle. The Angelzon does not rely on her skill kit to deal damage, but rather on items that have modifiers such as "% chance to cast [skill/spell] on striking," "% chance to cast a spell when hit," and "attacker receives [damage]." The main skills for this build are Fend, Guided Arrow, Multiple Shot, Lightning Fury, and Jab, which are capable of hitting many enemies simultaneously.

Diablo 2: Resurrected is scheduled for release in 2021 on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
