One of the primary methods of getting silver in Subnautica: Below Zero is to find and break Argentine Outcrops. These can be found in a wide variety of biomes including the Arctic Kelp Forest that the player starts in. While this may net the player one or two pieces of silver, they can be found in bulk in large resource deposits. Large deposits of silver can spawn in the Arctic Spires, Crystal Caves, Koppa Mining Site, Lilypads Crevice, and Lilypad Islands. Finally, silver ore veins can be found in the Glacial Bay and Glacial Basin biomes.

Silver is used in four different crafting recipes, but perhaps the most important of these is the high capacity oxygen tank. Players can craft a standard O2 tank with just some titanium and fiber mesh, but in order to upgrade it and further increase the amount of oxygen players have, they will need some silver. Other recipes that require silver include the wiring kit, the ion battery, and the parallel processing unit. Finally, silver is also needed in order to upgrade the scanner room's speed.

Searching in these areas, players shouldn't have any trouble finding all the silver they need for the aforementioned items. It's definitely a good idea to prioritize the high capacity O2 tank since this will allow players more freedom when exploring the frozen depths, but all of the other items also have unique uses.

Subnautica: Below Zero is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
