Elden Ring fans have been starved for updates on the upcoming game from Dark Souls studio FromSoftware ever since it was first announced at E3 2019. While FromSoftware has remained mostly quiet about Elden Ring since then, rumors point to new information coming to light sooner rather than later. In fact, it's possible that some Elden Ring news could drop within the next two months or so.
This was teased by industry insider Jeff Grubb, who responded to a meme comparing Elden Ring excitement to the ongoing GameStop stock situation. Grubb said that Elden Ring excitement "Should soon go to the moon," suggesting that a reveal of some kind is going to take place. This obviously excited some Elden Ring fans on Twitter, who pressed Grubb for more information, who hinted at more details.

Grubb's tweets suggest Elden Ring news may not come within the month, but more likely within the next 60 days. That matches up with previous reports that Elden Ring news would be coming within the first half of 2021. Grubb then clarified the statement to explain that he does not have "perfect information" when it comes to Elden Ring, but that he has "heard some things from different people" that make him optimistic that the game will be shown off soon. He also clarified that he does not know specific dates about any Elden Ring reveals.
Since FromSoftware has shown next to nothing about Elden Ring since its E3 2019 reveal, the game's subreddit has had to take matters into its own hands. Fans on the subreddit have been creating endless Elden Ring memes, mainly about FromSoftware's silence, while essentially creating their own lore for the game. It will be interesting to see how many of the fan theories match up to the actual game whenever fans are shown more of it.
As it stands, very little is known about Elden Ring in an official capacity. It's known that Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin is working on the game, but beyond that, everything else is rumor and speculation. It's expected that Elden Ring will be a more open world take on the Dark Souls formula, but until official gameplay is revealed, fans should take that information with a grain of salt.
Until FromSoftware finally decides to break its silence on Elden Ring, all fans can do is speculate. In the meantime, hopefully some more Elden Ring concept art leaks to help tide fans over until more substantial information becomes available.
Elden Ring is in development for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
