Ghost Recon: Wildlands provides plenty of opportunities to utilize sniper rifles. Here are the 10 best in the game.

In the wide and untamed world of Ghost Recon: Wildlands, drug cartels have plagued the government and the livelihood of the people. As unnamed ghosts assigned to work under the system to liberate the country, assassination and sabotage are key; stealth is an important element in GRW's gameplay.

This, together with the huge open areas and towering vantage points in the game, determines snipers as a necessary item in GRW. Almost every player reserves one weapon slot for a sniper because, besides being effective weapons, they immerse the players in their roles as ghosts.

Updated on May 18, 2021, by Reyadh Rahaman: Out of the dozens of awesome long-range rifles that can be found in this impressively realistic and tremendously fun game, there are a few that stand out as particularly viable due to their better stats and how they feel when fired, though, since base-level gun statistics are shown as meters in-game instead of being given numerical values, their original stats have been converted into a figure out of 100 (a fully maxed meter) for easier understanding.

There is no doubt that personal preference plays a huge part in what guns a ghost uses, however, there is a select group that many players gravitate toward when they need to take out a target quickly and efficiently, for sometimes a ghost will only have a single shot and must make it count.

10 HTI

HTI Stats

  • Damage - 45/100
  • Accuracy - 85/100
  • Handling - 5/100
  • Range - 95/100
  • Rate of Fire - 4/100
  • Noise Reduction - 6/100
  • Penetration - 77/100

This thing can take down an APC tank in two shots. The HTI is is a powerful bolt-action rifle that fires .50 cal rounds. It deals great damage, and its shots pierce through cover as thick as concrete. Its power, coupled with its armor-piercing rounds, allows it to destroy vehicles in a single shot.

It can also down a full-sized helicopter in the same manner. Though this weapon is effective in taking out infantry units, it is also a viable weapon to put down incoming reinforcements when the alarms go off. This weapon is also great for ambushing convoys but due to its really low rate of fire, it doesn't do too well when swarmed with enemies.

9 G28

G28 Stats

  • Damage - 30/100
  • Accuracy - 83/100
  • Handling - 12/100
  • Range - 80/100
  • Rate of Fire - 44/100
  • Noise Reduction - 40/100
  • Penetration - 60/100

What the G28 lacks in range and damage, it makes up for in rate of fire and handling. It's a semi-automatic rifle that shoots 7.62x51 NATO rounds. Its rapid rate of fire for a sniper rifle allows it to deal with swarms quite effectively.

It can also silently take out a compound. But, because of the higher firing rate, it has the added functionality of silently taking down a trio of grouped enemies without leaving anyone to notice, and without the need for sync shots. Unlike the HTI however, it cannot take down vehicles with a single round. It also rapidly chews through ammo while doing so.

8 MSR

MSR Stats

  • Damage - 43/100
  • Accuracy - 93/100
  • Handling - 1/100
  • Range - 100/100
  • Rate of Fire - 23/100
  • Noise Reduction - 20/100
  • Penetration - 96/100

The MSR is a bolt-action rifle that fires .338 Lapua Magnum rounds. It does slightly less damage than the HTI, but compensates a bit more in every other area: accuracy, range, rate of fire, noise-reduction, and has even better penetration abilities.

The increased range and accuracy make it a well-rounded sniper rifle for that nesting approach. It can take out enemies through thicker cover with the added penetrability. It is also more silent than the HTI, allowing for more concealed placement. However, this Sniper cannot one-hit vehicles.

7 M40A5

M40A5 Stats

  • Damage - 27/100
  • Accuracy - 100/100
  • Handling - 32/100
  • Range - 84/100
  • Rate of Fire - 33/100
  • Noise Reduction - 37/100
  • Penetration - 44/100

The M40A5 does less damage and penetration than the MSR and the HTI. But, it's more accurate, faster shooting, and is more silent than both of them. The slightly faster round chambering, partnered with the increased accuracy, allows for fewer chances of committing a mistake, with the more silent attribute being a cherry-on-top and thus preventing detection.

This weapon is obtained early on in the game in the easiest province on the map, Itacua. It's a good starting weapon to have when venturing out deeper into the Wildlands. This bolt-action NATO round-firing rifle is a reliable one used by U.S. Marines.

6 PSG-1

PSG-1 Stats

  • Damage - 30/100
  • Accuracy - 100/100
  • Handling - 1/100
  • Range - 100/100
  • Rate of Fire - 45/100
  • Noise Reduction - 38/100
  • Penetration - 64/100

Between single-shot stopping power and rapid-firing bullet rain, this weapon is in the comfy middle. This weapon does virtually the same damage as the bolt-action M40A5 and the rapid-firing G28. However, it is also more accurate, longer-ranged, and penetrating than the latter, but handles worse.

The PSG-1 is a flexible weapon that can pick off enemies in a compound silently, and doesn't struggle when getting swarmed either. The PSG-1 is a rapid-firing weapon that does decent damage per shot, making it a nice hybrid option for a sniper and an assault rifle.

5 MSR Eagle Shot

MSR Eagle Shot Stats

  • Damage - 48/100
  • Accuracy - 57/100
  • Handling - 1/100
  • Range - 59/100
  • Rate of Fire - 11/100
  • Noise Reduction - 35/100
  • Penetration - 43/100

The MSR "Eagle Shot" variant is a bright aqua version of the MSR rifle. It has a golden French-curve pattern on its side, complementing its cool shiny color. Though it has much less penetration (but better noise reduction) than its original counterpart, it also has less damage and range than the MSR; the two attributes that matter in a bolt-action rifle.

However, it's highly effective against armored units and can still pick them off when they're behind cover. Because of the slight differences between this and a modded MSR, the choice would eventually boil down to which goes better with the wielder's outfit.

4 SR-25 Liberator

SR-25 Liberator Stats

  • Damage - 27/100
  • Accuracy - 46/100
  • Handling - 15/100
  • Range - 44/100
  • Rate of Fire - 20/100
  • Noise Reduction - 51/100
  • Penetration - 27/100

The "Liberator' variant of the trusty SR-25 is one of the quietest snipers in the game, tying with the MK14 Occult. It is easier to handle than other rifles and has an adaptable G28 Scope that can switch between 5x magnification and a red-dot sight.

This is the perfect weapon for infiltrating compounds due to its versatility in range, yet very silent shots. Enemies wouldn't hear a thing when an infiltrator goes about shooting infantry with this rifle. Its decent rate of fire also allows it to eliminate groups of enemies stealthily without leaving anyone to notice.

3 MK14

MK14 Stats

  • Damage - 27/100
  • Accuracy - 70/100
  • Handling - 37/100
  • Range - 74/100
  • Rate of Fire - 45/100
  • Noise Reduction - 23/100
  • Penetration - 50/100

Impeccable handling and rapid-fire assault are intertwined in this fully automatic sniper rifle. Switching between semi-automatic and fully automatic, the MK14 is an unhinged sniper that can mow down incoming enemies. Besides being a sniper than can one-shot infantry units, it can also double as an assault rifle when things don't go according to plan.

To maximize this hybrid between a sniper and an AR, an ACOG is the recommended scope attachment for this weapon, including a foregrip attachment. The MK14 has options for a Burst-3 trigger, and a Semi-Automatic trigger as well.

2 Desert Tech HTI BDC

Desert Tech HTI BDC Stats

  • Damage - 95/100
  • Accuracy - 58/100
  • Handling - 1/100
  • Range - 56/100
  • Rate of Fire - 3/100
  • Noise Reduction - 28/100
  • Penetration - 52/100

The "Desert Tech BDC" variant of the HTI is a straight upgrade from its original counterpart. As a weapon with unstoppable damage, this variant significantly increases both those attributes with a few drawbacks on the other stats.

It also comes with a silencer attached, making the vehicle-destroying rounds silent as a cat yet deadly as an elephant. Enemies will only notice the presence of this sniper after all of their vehicles explode in a fiery blaze. This weapon is awarded to players who reach Tier 40 progression in the game; making it one of the most widely used snipers by intermediate-professional players.

1 SR-25 Jungle

SR-25 Jungle Stats

  • Damage - 42/100
  • Accuracy - 100/100
  • Handling - 10/100
  • Range - 100/100
  • Rate of Fire - 35/100
  • Noise Reduction - 23/100
  • Penetration - 69/100

The "Jungle" variant of the SR-25 is one of the most powerful weapons in the game. This rapid-firing ACOG rifle fires unusually fast for a sniper but also has the same armor-piercing kick as the HTC in each of its shots. Like the HTC, it can one-shot vehicles and cause them to explode.

This amount of power, partnered with its high rate of fire, makes it the perfect weapon for wreaking havoc. The SR-25 Jungle obviously isn't tailored to a stealthy approach, hence the absence of a suppressor. Though technically a sniper, it caters more to an assault-guns-blazing role with some long-range support on the side.
