Developer Experiment 101 releases a new trailer for Biomutant that gives players an overview of what they can expect when the game launches.

Biomutant is just a week away and looks like it has a lot to offer players. Ahead of its release, developer THQ Nordic has released a new trailer explaining what players can expect when they get their hands on Biomutant.

For those who don't know, Biomutant is an action RPG that puts players in control of a furry fighter in a post-apocalyptic setting. Biomutant allows players to pick from various breeds and classes to learn a variety of abilities and craftable equipment to explore the world and fight enemies. It looks as though players will have a lot to do in Biomutant, and the new trailer looks to help break it down a little bit.

The trailer begins by giving a broad overview of what games Biomutant is similar to. The trailer features narration by Stefan Ljungqvist, the art and creative director at Experiment 101, who likens Biomutant to other popular games like Legend of Zelda: Breath of the WildRatchet and Clank, and Devil May Cry. The video then gives players a brief look at Biomutant's character creation system as well as the customization options players have for personalizing their clothing. The new trailer also points out the variety of weapons players can expect to take advantage of in Biomutant, with a range from a toothbrush to a squirt gun.

The trailer also gives a look at the six different tribes that are spread across the world. Combined, the tribes make up the majority of the characters that players will come across in Biomutant. Each tribe has a different combat style that they have mastered, and they are all warring with one another, making the player choose to align with one of them at the start of the game. Finally, the trailer gives a look at the game's ability system, known as mutations. It breaks down the various types of mutations and gives a look at some of the options players will be able to use, as well as how they can be chained together with other mutations.

The trailer is a very comprehensive look at what players can all expect from Biomutant. It has a refreshing tone as well, as it is just Ljungqvist candidly talking with fans about what is in the game and what the team was aiming to do. Biomutant has the potential to be a big release, but only time will tell how well it is received when it launches later this month.

Biomutant releases on May 25 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
