In Destiny 2, Season of the Splicer, Guardians noticed a change in Ikora Rey's voice, the new voice actress has seemingly revealed herself.

Destiny 2, Season of the Splicer brings back a key member of the Vanguard, Ikora Rey. Since the beginning of the franchise, Rey has served as the Warlock Vanguard, returning to the role in Destiny 2. Unfortunately, since her plan of constructing a Vex portal in the Tower, she's largely been in the background without much to do. Thankfully, the formidable Warlock is once again a featured part of the seasonal storyline.

As revealed in the initial Season of the Splicer trailer, Destiny 2 fans were greeted with the return of Ikora Rey. Destiny 2 Guardians have not heard Ikora’s voice for some time so news of her return in Destiny 2, Season of the Splicer was welcomed by many Guardians in the Destiny community.

Ikora Rey’s return was not quite like Guardians may have remembered her. Veteran Guardians who have been hearing Ikora’s voice for years immediately knew that beloved Warlock Vanguard’s voice actress had been recast. While there has not been an official announcement by Bungie, the new voice actress has taken to social media to announce using one of Ikora’s introductory lines from Season of the Splicer, “It’s been a long time, Guardian…”.

Many Guardians agree it has been a long time since they have heard from their beloved Warlock Vanguard, but many were wondering who was now lending their voice to the character. Between Twitter and Instagram, Guardians may have their answer as voice actress Mara Junot took to social media to subtly announce her arrival as Ikora Rey.

Mara retweeted Destiny 2’s Season of the Splicer trailer with the quote, “It’s been a long time, Guardian…”. While not confirmation, following her Instagram link reveals another post of Ikora Rey’s voice-over dialogue over the Season of the Splicer trailer. Here, Mara posts, “Season of the Splicer has arrived… (and apparently so have I.)”. This paired with #IkoraRey on Mara’s Twitter bio all but confirm the voice actress’ role as the new voice of Ikora Rey.

Video game fans may recognize Mara’s voice as Lisa from Genshin Impact, or Mortal Kombat 11’s Sindel. Mara Junot has an extensive history as a voice actress, leaving Ikora Rey’s commanding voice in expert hands, vocal cords?

Destiny 2 fans may realize that Commander Zavala is the last remaining Vanguard who has kept his original voice actor, Lance Reddick. Thankfully, Lance seems to really enjoy his role even recording voice snippets as Commander Zavala for Destiny fans, so Guardians may not have to see Zavala’s voice replaced for a while longer.

Ikora Rey’s new voice is sure to continue inspiring many Guardians and Eliksni alike. Pioneering the movement to bring the Eliksni into the Last City, requires a commanding voice that Mara seems ready to bring to Destiny 2.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
