Robert Pattinson looks the part as Bruce Wayne in new teaser images straight from The Batman's Gotham City, with plenty more to show.

The Batman may still be a long way from movie theaters, but that doesn’t mean Warner Bros. isn’t happy to capitalize on the hype that’s always generated by DC’s most popular hero, at least in film. With that comes a fresh marketing reveal of how Robert Pattinson will look when he suits up as the new Bat next year.

Recently, The Batman director Matt Reeves had taken part in a small featurette that went into further detail about exactly what kind of influences would define his Rogues' Gallery, especially Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman. In short, it’s clear Reeves' Gotham in The Batman will be very different from the city in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy, as will Bruce Wayne himself.

So far, these new early previews of Pattinson's Caped Crusader are the clearest images fans have seen of the actor since the first trailer for The Batman, which was equally dark as it was exciting when it was first released. As Reeves and fans have noted, Pattinson's Batman will not tackle the classic superhero origin story trope that has been done so many times. Instead, the new film will be introducing a Batman who’s been working the vigilante night shift for at least a year now, hence why his Batsuit still seems a bit deconstructed from the hulking piece of armor Ben Affleck wore in his time.

While it’s still a complete mystery as to what Pattinson's lower body looks like when he’s dressed up as Batman, all of his protective gear certainly portrays a more minimalist cape and cowl look that fits Reeves' universe. These marketing images are part of the official 2022 tie-in calendar for The Batman and also came bundled with a new glimpse at Paul Dano's Riddler, who is looking very much like the Zodiac killer nowadays.

With more images and footage from The Batman coming out after the film concluded its initial production stage, fans ought to be reminded they still have plenty to be excited about since the Penguin and Carmine Falcone will also be featured in the film. However, the Joker and Harley Quinn are not set to appear for now.

Currently scheduled for release in early March, The Batman aims to fill that Christian Bale-shaped hole left on DC’s portfolio, considering Warner Bros. still hasn’t found a way to turn the DCEU into something that comes remotely close to competing with Marvel’s heroes. However, even if The Batman will still exist in his own universe, Zack Snyder fans continue to hope for a revival of the director’s Snyderverse Justice League plans.

The Batman is scheduled to be released in theaters on March 4, 2022.
