While playing a match of Outbreak, a Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War player stumbles upon a wacky new Mastercraft variant of the Hauer 77.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is no stranger to wacky weapons, as players have been able to turn the game’s arsenal into pens and dragons. However, the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Mastercraft weapon takes the absurdity to a whole new level.

Redditor DutchGamer2003 is responsible for finding the weird new Call of Duty blueprint, and they did so while playing a match of Outbreak. The first thirty seconds of gameplay see the player completing the usual actions of an early Outbreak match, as they fight off some enemies near one of the locked golden chests. After the player clears out the foes and turns to head down Alpine’s slopes, they stop to change their weapon blueprint on the pause screen.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Custom Mods feature only came to Zombies at the start of Season 3, and it seems like there are still some small issues to work out. While things look normal after the player first switches their Hauer, they quickly realize that they have been given a variant of the gun that they did not actually select. In fact, this unknown version of the Hauer has not yet been added to the game at all, making it a completely unknown blueprint prior to this clip being posted.

With the Ice Drake Krig 6 leaking in a similar fashion, this blueprint is likely coming to the game in the near future. Wasting no time once the gun is in their hands, DutchGamer2003 inspects the steampunk-like Hauer 77 — and finds a living creature waiting for them. A small rat can be seen at the front of the Shotgun, with the inspect animation seeing the player’s operator tap on the glass. Once done, the rat moves around and begins to squeak loudly, confirming that it is indeed still alive.

However, things only get stranger at the end of the animation, as the gun is pulled back and steam begins to come out of some pumps. While one would expect this to lead to a cooling sequence, the Operator instead pulls out an old bottle. They then hold it by the gun, which pours out some kind of green liquid that the player character drinks. Likely part of some mad scientist bundle, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans seem confused about the rat’s purpose and what exactly the drink is meant to be.

Still, as weird as it is, what is clear is that a new Hauer 77 blueprint is on the way. With the weapon remaining one of the best Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies guns since launch, fans will be able to purchase a more disturbing variant sometime soon.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
