Mass Effect players that are wondering how to go about replenishing their grenades can find the answers that they seek in this guide.

There are a variety of offensive tools in Mass Effect, and grenades are one that players may have some questions about. More specifically, some fans may be wondering how they can get more grenades in Mass Effect, as indeed it is quite easy to run out of these items. Shining some light on this matter is the exact purpose of this guide, though players may be slightly disappointed by the options that are available to them.

To get right to it, the most reliable sources for grenades are the various crates that are found across the game's environments. Indeed, players that are looking to obtain more explosives should make sure that they loot every container that they come across, and any grenades that are received in this fashion will be shown on the HUD. Additionally, grenades will occasionally be granted upon dispatching enemies, and again Mass Effect players should see a HUD notification when that occurs.

That is the extent of the ways that players can go about refilling their grenades, and neither option is particularly reliable. As such, fans should be judicious when they use their explosives, as there is no way to know exactly when more of them will come. Players should not be too hesitant to throw a grenade or two, though, as any that are found when Commander Shepard is carrying the maximum number of grenades will be left behind and go to waste.

With respect to what that maximum number of grenades is, just five explosives can be carried initially. That said, fans can increase that cap by buying upgrades from vendors like Morlan, Opold, and Delan. Players that want to use grenades frequently during their Mass Effect playthroughs are advised to purchase these upgrades as soon as possible, as they make it easier to efficiently manage the the expenditure and replenishment of these items.

To note, grenades function differently in both and 3, and that is something that players that find the system that is described above irritating may be happy to hear. Indeed, grenades in the second game in the Mass Effect trilogy are in unlimited supply, though they are on a cooldown. The third title, on the other hand, returns to a finite number of grenades, but they are replenished at the beginning of every mission. While fans may have varying opinions on these revised systems, they both allow grenades to be used more freely at the very least.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
