Diablo Immortal was announced back in 2018 and is slated to bring the popular dungeon crawler to mobile devices for the first time. With Diablo Immortal aiming to release later this year, developer Blizzard has started revealing some more information about what players should expect when it does.
Blizzard has already started revealing that while the game looks to emulate the Diablo experience that players love, Diablo Immortal will look somewhat different from other titles in the series. Blizzard has already announced that it will not feature seasons like Diablo 3, but it also will feature a different endgame experience as well.

In speaking with Pocket Tactics, Diablo Immortal's senior combat designer Julian Love has said that the endgame experience will be "much richer" than Diablo 3's and that it will be its entirely own thing. Diablo Immortal is also an MMO, which is new for the series, and Love says that definitely had an impact on the game's endgame. Love says that the game's nature as an MMO and more social experience made designing the game's endgame a much easier process. He says that it allows them to design difficult endgame experiences that will require players to discuss them with one another in order to prepare and figure it out for themselves. Of course, some Diablo fans are also worried that the social aspect will carry negatives with it in Diablo Immortal as well.
As for what players can expect from Diablo Immortal's endgame, Love says that players will have a variety of options. He tells Pocket Tactics that the game has elder rifts, bounties, PvP, the Helliquary, and the Cycle of Strife. While all of those features have not been detailed yet, it does seem like a lot of content for players to choose from. Love also goes on to say that the team aims to make fully leveling a character like Diablo Immortal's Demon Hunter class just the beginning of what feels like an entire other game.
Of course, Diablo Immortal is infamous for the poor reception its announcement received at 2018's BlizzCon. However, Blizzard has maintained that its playtesters have been very impressed with Diablo Immortal. There is still a lot of information that players don't know about Diablo Immortal. With both this year's E3 and Summer Game Fest just around the corner, it is possible that players will get some more information ahead of the game's release later this year soon. Hopefully, it ends up being a game that will satisfy new and old Diablo fans alike.
Diablo Immortal is slated to release later this year for Android and iOS devices.
