Zack Snyder answered tons of personal questions sharing some insight into his filming style, why he makes movies, and his Cheesehead fandom.

Zack Snyder’s stock is soaring right now with the director enjoying a sudden increase in popularity thanks to the release of his long-awaited Snyder Cut version of the Justice League, plus the premiere of Army of the Dead on Netflix. It’s no surprise then to see people curious to picks Snyder’s brain on YouTube to find out just what kind of projects he wants to work on in the future.

While Zack Snyder’s Justice League overwhelmingly positive reception did wonders to undo the hit the director’s reputation took after Batman v Superman, there’s a lot more to know and like about Snyder, what he aims to portray in his films, and how he thinks fans should tackle the 4-hour task of watching his Justice League. Sadly, for those still clinging on the chance that Warner Bros. could decide to restore the Snyderverse in the DCEU, the director doesn’t really seem to keen on that possibility nowadays.

All this came in one of Wired’s most recent Autocomplete Interview segments that featured Snyder answering some of the most searched whats, hows, whys and whos of his life, including how Star Wars inspired him to make movies and attend film school from a very young age. Most surprisingly, Snyder took the opportunity to express his love for his the NFL and his hometown team, the Green Bay Packers, pointing out he’s just as old as the Super Bowl (yes, he’s 55 and looks that good) and how he would love to make a movie about the legendary Vince Lombardi.

Snyder also took this opportunity to remind everyone he’s never seen Joss Whedon theatrical release of Justice League, so he honestly doesn’t know how radically different his film is from that version, although he did advise people his preferred way to watch the Snyder Cut is by taking a break right after Part 5: All The King’s Horses, which is just shy of the two and a half hours mark. He also expressed his love for his family, and the zombie movie genre because of the uniquely human element behind it.

All things considered, Snyder does owe a lot to zombies since they did give him his first big break with Dawn of the Dead so in a way the new Army of the Dead does represent the director’s career coming full circle since 2004. Regardless of that, Snyder is probably best known for the comic book adaptations that followed with 300 and Watchmen, which aged to become cult classics, and even the man himself says by this point he ought to just write a comic story himself.

If Snyder ever decides to make a football movie, the Snyder Cut does hand out a taste of the human Cyborg running the ball in slow motion, a trick he swears he’s not that into, but that nevertheless is part of his superhero legacy in the eyes of fans.
