Call of Duty: Warzone loadout expert and professional player NICKMERCS reveals a surprisingly strong loadout for the underrated Fennec SMG.

Call of Duty: Warzone players are in the midst of a fun meta where a majority of the game’s weaponry is viable. As such, different guns are being given a proper chance, and NICKMERCS believes that the Fennec is worth the time of Call of Duty: Warzone fans.

While some players may be surprised to see a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare weapon being used in Season 3, NICKMERCS argues that the Fennec is “still pretty viable” in the latest version of the game. Despite many of the strongest weapons being from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the Fennec has snuck its way onto the playing field. According to NICKMERCS, it is the “fastest killing sub” when it is set up correctly, and his gameplay proves that the SMG is still deadly when in the right hands.

While NICKMERCS does recommend trying out the gun, he does add that it should not be a primary weapon. Instead, gamers should run something like the PKM LMG, which has proven incredibly effective for NICKMERCS in recent weeks. The Fennec should be used as a secondary weapon in a loadout, as its effectiveness at close range makes it a great gun to pull out in close quarters situations. Its lack of range is a huge downside, though, meaning that players should only rely on the Fennec and other SMGs as backups in the battle royale game.

For those interested in a faster alternative to popular secondaries like the AK-47 Assault Rifle, though, NICKMERCS recommends the following attachments for the Fennec. First, players should give the gun some extra range using the ZLR 18” Deadfall barrel, while some extra speed can be added via the FTAC C6 Carbine PRO stock. With the gun uses primarily as an SMG and a backup weapon, there is no need for an optic, with NICKMERCS instead using the extra slot for some Stippled Grip Tape.

The pro player utilizes the Merc Foregrip for increased accuracy, with the attachment heavily helping with this statistic. The list of attachments is rounded out with some 40 Round Drum Mags, which is a wise addition on the part of the FaZe co-owner. With the Fennec boasting an incredibly fast fire rate, ensuring that players can keep firing for a bit longer is beneficial. Without this attachment, gamers would likely fly through the weapon’s low ammo count.

  • Barrel: ZLR 18” Deadfall
  • Underbarrel: Merc Foregrip
  • Stock: FTAC C6 Carbine PRO
  • Ammunition: 40 Round Drum Mags
  • Rear Grip: Stippled Grip Tape

While the renamed Vector may not be the best of the best, it is a reliable secondary that is worth testing out. With buffs to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare weapons promised as well, it could only be a matter of time before the gun gets even stronger.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
