Emoting is a flashy and unique way to show off in Apex Legends. These are the best legendary emotes in the game right now.

Apex Legends Season 9 brought a lot of new changes to the popular Battle Royale. New legend Valkyrie came with the update, as well as an update to the Olympus map and the addition of an entirely new Arenas game mode. Something else that was introduced, too, was the addition of ground emotes.

Emotes were normally something only doable in mid-air when the squad initially drops, but now every legend has three to choose from. Each legend has one unlocked by default, a purple emote that's a bit more complex, and a legendary emote that is particularly flashy or relevant to the character's personality.

10 Bangalore – Charge

Bangalore's legendary emote is the Charge emote, which depicts the legend standing firmly upright, bringing out a brass army horn, and playing it for a second before pointing in a direction as if to tell teammates to "CHARGE!"

Bangalore's epic emote is similar, in which she will stand upright and present arms as if she was standing in rank with other soon-to-graduate cadets – her background as a soldier is no secret to long-time players.

9 Horizon – Mom Dance

Horizon is considered by many fans to be Apex Legends' answer to Interstellar and Ms. Frizzle from the Magic School Bus series. As such, her legendary emote Mom Dance pays homage to her characterization, as she dances on top of her robot partner in a very "Mom" kind of way.

She kicks her feet out rhythmically, dances side to side like a 40's stage dancer, and eventually starts turning too fast atop her partner to the point of nearly falling off.

8 Revenant – Overload

Revenant, the undead machine-zombie-assassin that has become so iconically associated with Apex Legends, makes a definite Shakespeare reference and a possible World of Warcraft reference with his legendary Overload emote. For this emote, Revenant will look up wistfully at a mechanical skull, like the famous "to be or not to be" scene in Hamlet.

Then, he crushes it to absorb its power into his mechanical body, possibly similar to Illidan Stormrage with the Skull of Gul'Dan. Revenant also makes a sly reference to the T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgement Day in his rare emote, in which he extends his right arm into a knife-like shape and pretends to sharpen it.

7 Loba – Crushed It

Loba's legendary emote in Apex Legends is the Crushed It emote, which depicts the legend playing golf with Revenant's head. Loba brings out her scepter, extends it, and uses the Panther-like head of the scepter to smash what appears to be Revenant's head into the distance.

Loba's parents were canonically killed by the mechanical specter-assassin Revenant. No-one knows whether Loba canonically got revenge on Revenant like this, but one thing's for sure: she does have a near-perfect golf swing.

6 Bloodhound - Hunter's Call

The Hunter's Call emote is not as much of a funny emote as it is just a plain old cool one. It references Bloodhound's past in their technology-fearing World's Edge tribe, who used horns to communicate over long distances.

It's a far sight better than the default emote for Bloodhound, and perhaps it subconsciously gets a squad hyped up for the next round in Arenas.

5 Caustic – Taking Notes

Caustic's legendary emote is the Taking Notes emote. Caustic is a mad scientist through and through, having killed many in his path to creating his iconic NOX gas. For this emote, he deploys one of his deployable gas canisters and simply starts taking notes while sitting on it like a beanbag.

It's not exactly an eye-catching emote, but player footage of an exploit that lets Caustic hop around while using this emote makes it much more hilarious than it has a right to be.

4 Octane – Human Spring

Legendary emotes in Apex Legends will use models from character abilities without actually triggering those abilities. Octane's legendary emote Human Spring makes it look like the daredevil is bouncing on his jump pad and posing in mid-air.

Similar to Caustic's emote, this one is particularly interesting because Octane's hit box appears to change based on his position. While players can't get a better view of their surroundings by using an emote, they can dodge bullets if timed correctly.

3 Pathfinder – Jump Rope Master

Pathfinder's legendary emote in Apex Legends is a simple schoolyard one that is among the more visually impressive in the game. Pathfinder releases his grappling hook from his right arm, grabs it with his left, then jumps rope until the player stops.

It's one of the few emotes that continues forever until the player moves, and it suits Pathfinder's playful personality perfectly.

2 Mirage – Selfie

Mirage is possibly Apex Legends answer to Narcissus – he just can't get enough of himself. Mirage's copies act as his best friends, and for his legendary emote Selfie his bamboozle copy takes a picture of... himself.

Now, one could argue that a copy of Mirage taking a picture of the real Mirage doesn't count as a "selfie." However, Mirage does control his copies, although who's to say that the "real" Mirage is real at all?

1 Gibraltar – Haka

The Haka is a well-known and well-respected Maori group dance that is used for preparing for battle, as a sign of respect for revered guests, or as a challenge. The dance consists of a number of people all rhythmically dancing with pounding steps and rhythmic shouting.

Gibraltar's legendary emote emulates this dance, which conveys the warrior's strength through exaggerated, powerful movements. Gibraltar is culturally a nondescript pacific islander, and the famed Maori dance perfectly suits his character.
