In this Shiver Snowfield (Day) course request, players must strategically lead a Weavile to a tree down the pathway before taking the picture.

In the New Pokemon Snap, the Shiver Snowfields (Day) course offers players the opportunity to digitally capture various types of snow-dwelling Pokemon in their natural habitat. Players can also take on special requests to photograph the more unusual, and sometimes adorable, interactions of these Pokemon. While some are pretty straightforward, a few New Pokemon Snap requests can be a little frustrating.

There are several requests available for the Shiver Snowfields (Day) course. These can range from simply snapping a photo of a burrowing Pokemon, to strategically leading a Pokemon to specific objects, locations, or even towards other Pokemon. The "Message from a Friend" request requires the player to snap a picture of a Weavile reading the markings scratched onto a certain tree. But to do this, the player must first lead the Weavile on a path towards the tree.

Upon starting the Shiver Snowfields (Day) course, the player will notice some of the ice-type Pokemon such as Weavile, Beartic, Swinub, and Cubchoo. Take note that not every Pokemon available for this course may be visible to the player, as certain Pokemon only appear on the course after the player has raised their Research Level. Weavile is unlocked after reaching Research Level 2. However, the "Message from a Friend" request is not unlocked until Research Level 3.

During the start of the course, players should be able to spot the Weavile standing behind a group of trees on the right side of the pathway. The objective here is to lead the Weavile to a tree located further along the path but before the tunnel. The player can perform a scan to first get its attention. Next, players should begin creating a trail of Fluffruits in front of the Weavile. But be careful of any other Pokemon nearby that may try to snatch the treats for themselves. If the Weavile gets distracted or takes too long to move forward, players can slow down the NEO-ONE by tracking the Weavile backward.

Continue leading the Weavile down the path until a tree with markings appears. If it is close enough, the Weavile may notice the tree and run off towards it. Once the Weavile is in front of the tree, use an Illumina Orb on both the Weavile and the tree. This causes the markings on the tree to light up. The Weavile will notice and attempt to read them. When it does, the player needs to do their best to take a 3-star picture before the Weavile runs off. This completes the "Message from a Friend" request.

New Pokemon Snap is available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
