Dress-up storytelling game Time Princess announces a special event where DLC proceeds go toward supporting the Kunsthistorisches Museum.

Certain mobile games such as the story-driven dress-up game Time Princess, from Castle Clash developer IGG, may not get as much attention among the mainstream gaming press despite their popularity. These mobile games face tough competition, making it difficult to stand out. Time Princess is trying something unique, however, as IGG recently announced a special event featuring unique cosmetics, with benefits going toward supporting the Kunsthistorisches Museum.

The Kunsthistorisches Museum is currently celebrating its 130-year anniversary, which lines up with Time Princess's first anniversary. As such, IGG must see an opportunity to not only celebrate the history Time Princess tells stories about, but to help support it financially too. A series of new in-game DLC packs will be available between May 22 and May 31, with all proceeds going toward a fund supporting the Kunsthistorisches Museum's preservation efforts.

Time Princess is a game about stories. The player's character travels from story to story, including titles like Helen of Sparta, Little Women, Phantom of the Opera, and others, collecting designs for clothing. Much of what Time Princess bases its storytelling on is taken from a historical context, even if the stories themselves are based in fiction. There's clearly a respect for history at IGG, nevermind a love for art and design, which may have driven the team's decision to support this charitable endeavor.

Kunsthistorisches Museum, also known as the Museum of Fine Arts, is located in Vienna, Austria. It was opened in 1891, though at the time it was a natural history museum. While it's perhaps best known for its painting gallery, it also features collections of musical instruments, arms, and armor among other art.

What's especially nice about Time Princess's charity event is that it's not necessarily a marketing effort in disguise. The Kunsthistorisches Museum isn't a major presence; it isn't tied to any ongoing world events or crises. Time Princess isn't timing the event to coincide with any international holidays or themed months. It seems as if it's just being done because it's a good thing to do.

Those interested in checking out Time Princess and potentially supporting the Kunsthistorisches Museum can download the game out on mobile devices right now. The Kunsthistorisches Museum event will last until Memorial Day, May 31, with proceeds from specific DLC packs available in the game's store going to the beneficiary. It's a free-to-play game, so there's no up-front cost.

Time Princess is available now on mobile devices.
