Biomutant: How to Change Appearance | Game Rant

Biomutant has a rather robust character customizer but how does a player change their character's look once they've started adventuring?

One of the things that sets Biomutant apart from other games that have launched so far this year is the very immersive character customization options. Biomutant has a very detailed character creator that allows players to build up their mutant in a number of different ways. This means that users can put their own personal touches on the way their main character looks as it journeys through the RPG's expansive world.

While Biomutant allows users to make whatever little fuzzy avatar they could possibly want, there is a bit of a catch once the game's adventure begins. Once those characters do start to wander through the world, there are plenty of other things that can be customized, including the weapons that can be used and the personality and skill of the avatars. Biomutant, like other RPGs, works to allow players to feel as though their adventure is unique. However, despite all the different customization options offered up in THQ Nordic's most recent project, there are a few catches when it comes to changing appearances after the initial creator page.

There are a couple of different ways to change clothing and armor in the game. Some of that armor and clothing is going to apply specifically to the kind of class a character in Biomutant is playing as. There are also very specific weapons that will go best with a specific class, though users aren't severely limited by what tools and guns they want to pick up and go into battle with. Much like clothing, finding and equipping new weapons is done by exploring the world.

Once a player does find new armor or clothing to put on their character, changing the appearance and what they're wearing is quite simple. Users need to open up the gear menu by first going into the main menu. These menus can be accessed by pressing the Menu/Options button. Once at the gear menu, you can select which body part you want to change the equipment or weapon for.

For example, if a user wants to change what kind of pants a Biomutant character is wearing, they would click the lower half of the mutant's body and then options will show up the player can choose. If a user's inventory includes a shirt or armor for the torso, the same process will equip that clothing, by clicking on the character's torso in the menu.

Biomutant is a game that offers so much customization that a character's hairstyle can also be changed, though there are certain steps that need to be done first. Players need to journey through the world until they meet a character named Trim. Trim is a barber who can be convinced to give the hero all kinds of different hairstyles.

Biomutant releases May 25 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
