Twitch accounts impersonating Amouranth, Indiefoxx, and other hot tub streamers can be found in the new Pools, Hot Tubs, and Beaches category.

Amouranth is possibly the biggest name in hot tub streaming, but that doesn't always mean that fans are praising her in the chat. Instead, some scam Twitch accounts on the streaming platform's new Pools, Hot Tubs, and Beaches category are using her VODs as their own to attract viewers.

Twitch has officially announced that hot tub streams are here to stay, implementing a dedicated category to offer this type of content a proper place on the website. While this may not have been the reaction some were hoping for, this means that streamers can ultimately continue using hot tub streams and adjacent styles of content to earn money. However, some Twitch accounts are profiting off the work of other streamers by downloading the VODs, or videos of past streams on-demand, of the site's most popular hot tub streamers such as Amouranth and Indiefoxx.

As first pointed out by Wicked Good Gaming on Twitter, fake accounts can be seen using the VODs of old streams to attract viewers. One user, 10gibbo, used a VOD of cosplayer Amouranth with a title that implies donations will earn them free subscriptions to her OnlyFans. However, 10gibbo no longer has any content on their page, though their channel remains. Similarly, a user playing a VOD of Indiefoxx's says that each sub or $5 in PayPal will get a twerk on-camera.

In the comments, Wicked Good Gaming also points out that another Twitch streamer used a still image of content creator Corinna Kopf in a hot tub with text that reads, "Be right back changing bikinis." When this "video" was streaming, it held about 200 concurrent viewers consistently. This channel is currently still posting other content to the platform.

Amouranth was popular enough to rise past Pokimane as Twitch's most popular female streamer, proving the demand Twitch has for hot tub streams. On the other hand, at the time of writing, Indiefoxx's ongoing livestream has nearly 8,000 concurrent viewers, and she only began hot tub streaming a couple of months ago after attempting to become a popular online musician and lifestyle YouTuber. So it's easy to see how stealing VODs could attract a number of viewers who don't know that the channel isn't legitimate, or simply don't care.

Twitch has yet to crack down on these fake accounts, but this isn't new to Twitch. The CS: GO Twitch scene is famous for having scam accounts impersonating massive content creators like Shroud, which often run fake giveaways. It might be a while before much is done about scam accounts as a whole.
