Destiny 2 has brought back the Vault of Glass, the original Destiny Raid. Guardians have speculated about what changes Bungie would make to the Vault of Glass and one change has been the removal of the fabled Chatterwhite shader. While this may be a bummer for some Guardians, Bungie has added the Bitterpearl shader to Destiny 2, similar to Chatterwhite but different enough to make it unique.
To get the new Bitterpearl shader, Guardians will need to complete the Pearl of Glass Triumph, finding 12 shards hidden throughout the Vault of Glass. These shards are bright blue; however, they are hidden and easy to miss. Guardians looking to shine bright like a pearl should follow this guide to get the newest white shader, Bitterpearl, and some hidden chests along the way.

The first two shards are in the opening encounter of the Vault of Glass. Guardians can pick up these shards before the encounter, or they may wait until after they complete the encounter, Shatterdiving any particularly pesky Vex before picking up the shards. There is a cave under the main vault door, a shard is in the back of the cave.
The second shard is off to the right of the opening encounter next to a skinny tree. The shard will be behind the tree and easy to miss. Guardians may then progress through the vault door, locating the first secret chest in Destiny 2’s Vault of Glass. These secret chests are needed to progress the Temporal Caches Triumph, so players should grab this while they are here.
The third shard is located right before the secret path where a secret chest was originally located in Destiny’s original Vault of Glass raid. Before approaching the cliff to jump down, there will be a large rock to the left. It will be dark and hard to see, but shard number three is located behind this rock.
Guardians will now want to jump off of the cliff, facing backwards, to find a hole in the wall. Follow the path through the hole and down until Guardians encounter a Vex plate, later used for the Destiny 2 Vex Mythoclast Catalyst. Secret chest number 2 will be visible to the right. The fourth shard is above the chest, behind the tree, slightly to the left.
The fifth shard is more complicated to get to from this secret path, but it can be done. When coming out of the secret path, with the Templar rally banner to the left, Guardians will want to pass the rally banner location, and continue up and to the left, through the hole in the rocks. Destiny 2 Titans may choose to use a Thundercrash Super to fly themselves up through the hole and onto the platform. Once through the large hole and on the platform, Guardians will need to go to the back right corner and drop onto a ledge below them to find the fifth shard before moving on to the next encounter. This is the last platform Guardians will be on if they came the normal way from the opening encounter.
Once the Templar is defeated in Destiny 2's Vault of Glass, do not go through the large obvious door. Instead, there will be a secret path that opens on the left of the arena. Jump into the hole in the wall and immediately look up to the right. The sixth shard will be on a small ledge.
Shard seven is easily missed if Guardians go too far. However, they need to follow the secret path down through the cave towards the Gorgon Maze, stopping before the last drop into the maze. Destiny 2 Guardians can find shard number seven in a small hole in the wall to the right. If Guardians are backtracking from the last drop, they will see the hole in the wall straight ahead.

Shards eight and nine are in the Gorgon Maze of the Vault of Glass, Guardians can also find the third hidden chest in the maze, however, it is locked behind a minor puzzle. The secret chest is best done by one Guardian before the rest of the Fireteam progresses through the Maze. The Guardian will need to go through the maze, shooting three Vex blocks that unlock the door to the third secret chest near the start of the Maze.
Shard eight is at the start of the Gorgon maze. Having a Hunter with the Omnioculus Exotic armor will make shards eight and nine much easier to get. From the Gorgon Maze spawn point, there will be a dark cave to the left with two Gorgons. Guardians will need to go into the cave, around the right side of the first rock, and then turn left, the eighth shard is up on a ledge on the right-hand rock. Continuing to follow this cave to the right will take Guardians to the door guarding the third secret chest.
The ninth shard requires progressing through the Gorgon Maze, made easy by Destiny 2’s Hunter Exotic, Omnioculus, and its extra smoke bomb. Once at the last large rock before the exit, Guardians will have the exit on the right, but the shard is off to the left in a corner surrounded by lumps of dirt.
Shards ten, 11, and 12 are in the jumping puzzle before Atheon’s Throne Room. When exiting the Gorgon Maze, guardians will have a jumping puzzle in front of them, skip the puzzle by going left through yet another hole in the rock wall. Follow this path to a cliff, hold the right-hand edge and jump off backwards, landing on the ledge below. Shard 10 is located in the cave on this ledge.
From the 10th shard, Guardians need to get across the chasm to the far wall, entering the lit-up hole in the wall. Guardians cannot make the jump without the use of Supers, however, jumping as far out as possible will respawn Guardians at the top of the jumping puzzle. From the top of the jumping puzzle, Guardians can jump to the first two vanishing platforms before jumping across the chasm to the wall, landing on a slim ledge. Follow the ledge until reaching the lit-up hole in the wall where the eleventh shard waits in the hole to the right.
Follow the slim path to the right towards the large triangle door, do not go inside. Shard 12 is right above the door, upon a ledge to the left of the door. Guardians may have to jump on the wall on the right to get to the ledge where the final shard is. Once Guardians have all twelve shards, they will need to claim the Triumph to get the Bitterpearl Shader. Guardians can now go take down Atheon in style.
