Shields in Fortnite should be something that every player is chasing, so this weekly epic quest will help players get closer to winning their games.

Each week, Fortnite challenges players to complete a series of epic and legendary quests. The reward for doing so is plenty of experience points, leveling up the seasonal Battle Pass, and unlocking all manner of rewards and outfits. One of the challenges for Chapter 2, Season 6, Week 11 is quite basic, but some unusual wording might have players scratching their heads.

For this challenge, players will need to maintain full shields for one minute. This means that they will need to take shield potions until they hit 100 shields and then not take any form of shield damage for a full minute. This is easier said than done in Fortnite, so this guide will contain tips to help players out.

To achieve full shields, players will need to drink two small shield potions and one big one or two big ones. The small potions give 25 shield each but cannot be used after reaching 50 total shield, and the larger pots will give 50 shield, bringing the player to 100. Shields can also be gained by smashing Slurp barrels with the harvesting tool, or standing in the glowing blue water near Slurpy Swamp, although this is a very slow process.

Once players have reached 100 shields, they will need to ensure that they do not take any damage to the shield for at least a minute. This means they cannot get shot by any other player or any of the NPCs that can be found on the map, but they can technically take fall damage as this bypasses shield and is taken straight from their health.

A very simple way to do this is to turn on the "Visualize sound effects" option in the Audio tab in the Settings menu. This will show small icons on the screen to represent sounds and will often give a small bit of extra warning when a player is close. While you may easily win a gunfight with another player, you don't want to risk taking any damage while working on this challenge and can hide or change direction to avoid them.

Players could also play a more static game once they hit full shields, staying where they are, and keep an eye open for other players that might be in the vicinity to avoid the risk of running into anyone. Once the minute is up, the challenge will autocomplete, and players will be free to finish the game however they wish. There will be plenty more challenges to complete, such as placing a spirit crystal at the tallest mountain.

Fortnite is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
